Regular Decision Class of 2023

@pingenstuff 48 people got accepted off the waitlist last for the class of 2021. And even if you get in, their financial aid for you is worse than if you got in right away.

Accepted to the Gabelli School of Business at Rose Hill!!!

Congrats! Did you get merit aid?

@Loki71 I got the Fordham Loyola Scholarship. As you can see, I had a bit of trouble in freshman year but I spoke about that in my essay as I had extenuating circumstances, which I think helped me in the application process; this meant I couldn’t qualify for a merit scholarship because my GPA wasn’t a solid A. They still gave me 26k total in aid!!

Well done!

Hi I’m a little late to this post!
I was accepted Early Action to Fordham but I was just notified this weekend that I was awarded the Cunniffe Presidential Scholarship!
Accepted Gabelli School of Business at Rose Hill
ACT: 35
GPA: (Out of 100, weighted) 97.197
AP Scores: 4 on Calc AB, 4 on US, 4 on Lang
Current AP’s: AP Physics C, AP Calc BC, AP Stat, AP Biology, AP Lit

D19 accepted to LC for IR, but she had previously attempted to withdraw the application so has declined the place - hopefully opening a spot for a waitlisted applicant.

@writeon a parent in another thread mentioned her child had been awarded a presidential scholarship- so some have been awarded at least.

@jimmy7879 Congratulations on the Cunniffe Presidential Scholarship! Did you get a letter in the mail or find out by email?

I was just wondering if anyone knew if the Net Direct Charges includes the financial aid on the myfordham.edu?

Accepted at LC for Bio
SAT: 1440
GPA: 4.0
ECs: Volunteered at medical offices and hospitals, student govt/politics, varsity volleyball for 4 yrs

@TimeTraveler28 It was over email that they notified me there was an update to my scholarship and then I found out on my portal. A letter in the mail came in a day or two later with more details.

Initially deferred then accepted into Gabelli with an annual scholarship of $12,000. Still too expensive, can’t justify the cost.

SAT: 1430
GPA: 89.92 UW
Moderate Courseload
Rank: N/A (15 students in grade)
EC: Very Strong (Internship, Job, Entrepreneur, etc)
Major: Finance - Gabelli
State Residency: NY (Westchester)
Ethnicity: White
Gender: M

True cost is $79K. With standard inflation, we are talking about $84K/year average for four years. For those normal middle-class humans, Fordham is dead in water without full tuition or the Presidential. Frustrated the see the child get tortured with an acceptance but only token aid.

@InlandNW would you mind sharing how you came up with $79K total. I’ve been trying to do a apples to apples comparison for all of the schools my daughter is still considering and I only came up with $77K. I included $54,428 tuition, $18,508 room & board, $1,039 books and supplies, $3,009 “other educational expenses” (Fordham suggested this amount
I have no idea what it’s comprised of. I’m really concerned about any hidden expenses, especially of living in NYC. Thanks for your help!!

accepted at LC for film and television (full tuition, no housing/fees)
32 act, 4.0 uw gpa, URM, National Hispanic Scholar
23 dual enrollment credits,
Varsity Scholars bowl captain, science olympiad state qualifier, national honors society, class secretary, concert band, pep band, marching band.

@MominPA2017 Fordham’s site is $75,655. Reviews on LC food are universally terrible. This means eating out. LC is in midtown Manhattan, not an area filled with eateries. this means more $ or more trips to SOHO/Village, etc and more money spent. Then it is Manhattan. the whole point of Fordham LC is to embrace Manhattan–an expensive place. then there are road trips. Also, I say that the personal expenses estimate was not too different than estimates at our local university. LOL. I lived in Manhattan. Its fun and expensive. Say instead your child is at Williams, way out in Western Mass. Personal expenditures are relatively minimal. Finally, travel expenses are more expensive–though perhaps less for you in PA. I think $79K is being pretty fair, if not conservative.

Hey! I didnt check my portal until today, I was waitlisted.
Anyone know how many usually get admitted from the waitlist?
