I got one, too! I'm really quite surprised. <3

I'll check my mail for the next month waiting for that early write to come :P
Hope is good, cadence. Hopefully it will pay off!

Cadence, we live in the mid-west.

We got an email from the financial aid office a week ago for an tax error on IDOC, was asked to correct the tax return....

i live in new jersey, but i don't think it's a regional thing.

i wish you the best though! maybe, we'll share the same excitement one month from now!

I got an early write all the way out in New Mexico. Williams hell yeah!

Got one! The handwritten note says "You come very highly recommended. Well done!"

I got one as well, I was wondering if everyone who got early acceptance also had a personal note? I think that was so original (and probably tiring) of them to do...Smart move, we all probably appreciated it :D Congrats everyone! (possible future classmates lol)

Jesus Christ, how are there so many of you?!

It just seems like there's a lot because we all must've come on here wondering what this was about :P I wonder how many people got early acceptance?

I really, really, really wish I had gotten one.
:(

I like to tell myself that they're coming out in waves, and mine just hasn't arrived yet... :p

it's okay, I mean, they can't accept everyone early. It really doesn't mean anything, we just get 30 more days to think about it, right? A lot of people get their acceptances the regular day. Not getting an Early Write doesn't mean you didn't get accepted..

goldenratiophi: That's exactly what I tell myself, too!

^ Same... we're in the same boat (well, us and a ton of other people). Best of luck Chandler.

As my fellow eph nceph noted above, the vast majority of accepted applicants do NOT receive an early write. Each year CC makes it look like lots of applicants are receiving these letters - not true, it's just a reflection of the high concentration of very high achievers on CC.

Ok, here is one interesting question for you fellow early write people. I read my early write letter and it was addressed to me. The potential majors were accurate, my name was accurate, and my address was accurate. In addition, the personal note at the bottom of the page was fitting and mentioned a commitment to social activism, which is again accurate. However, there is this one part where he mentions activities at Williams and says that I could continue pursuing some activities I don't even do. I sent them an email saying I hope that nothing is wrong, but the section seemed to be customized and they simply listed activites I don't participate in. I hope I didn't take anyone's early write letter if they did screw up...

^really? Everything seemed right...name, majors, potential activities, etc.

that's weird. :/

mine were fairly accurate with activities, academic interests, etc.

i did too enjoy the note that they wrote at the bottom of my early write acceptance letter. i agree with jrpar in that CC has a myriad outstanding applicants. best of luck to you all! you all deserve the best!

woo williams!

Mine said "Creative personal statement. Well done!"

My activities were accurate, although not necessarily my greatest interests.

My activities, just to clarify, were in 2 of 3 cases things I have never participated in. Specifically, the letter mentioned tennis and alto saxophone, two things I simply don't do. I am sure I didn't add fake activities to my common app page, so I wonder if it was a mix-up. I can imagine that since early writes are supposed to be motivated at increasing the yield of "top" students they would be upset if the letter actually led to confusion.
