Hey, so I'm applying for regular decision.
Only 6 more days till apps are due!!!!
How are they coming along??
I'm almost done... just 3 more essays!! haha

lol... essays done... thinking about re-doing the roomate essay. :) Recs all given to teachers, just gotta meet with them and mail them off. Counselor recs all done. I am so ontop of things ! now my harvard app lol....thats another story.

OMG! Northwestern has so many essays. Im not sure if its even worth applying.

i know!! but it's easy to get in (according to my school's naviance site), so I figured I'll make it as long as my essays don't suck that much, and it'll be worth it.

at least I'm not doing UChicago - they have INSANE essays, relating your life to the string theory and whatnot

Thats what deterred me from applying there, plus the fact that many other colleges view it as too academic (the college I mean).

Northwesterns essays sound so cliché. Its like something you would ask a new friend you just met or a foreign exchange student. Oh yeah, and for the prompt about coming up with your own question, heres mine: Please write an essay in 500 words or less about Northwestern is not the school for you.

jk

What about john hopkins and duke?? Compared to northwestern are they relatively easy to get into... since all three schools have acceptance rates of about 30%.

Anyways I'm doing my Stanford app right now~ woohooo!!

Any of you submitting via online?? for form 2?... I am debating right now... the character limits for my ECs are too limited!!! I can't even put in the title name of the programs I participated in.

yeah, while I was looking at the essay questions at work this summer, the guy next to me saw them and went "Personally I wouldn't apply there because of these awful questions."

Do you have a clue how to answer the "tell us something about your hometown" one? I can't think of anything but that we have a lot of apple orchards around here.

Jai - I think Duke is waaay harder to get in than JHU or NW.

whooa so you people are already done the stanford app?? yikes!!!!

^ yea, scea ;)

ohhhhhhhh.... so I guess I'm the only regular decision loner =(

I turned in my RD on the "preferred deadline."

imma try and submit stanford RD this weekend. I only have...umm...all of part 2 left.

I haven't finished my essays yet. I have all my recommendations and transcripts and stuff in though.

wooohoo, finished long essay. What a monster.

Northwestern's essays suck! But as an international who wants finaid I need some relatively good safeties too! Northwestern fits that slot. But yeah I can't figure out what to write for "Show your friends something in your hometown" essay. Maybe I'll show them my house, eh?

^ wow, good luck with intl financial aid. Only 20 students will get them.

How many intls does Stanford usually accept each year? Especially from Canada?

Stanford has 6% international students, out of about 1600 - so that's about 100 per class. No matter how many apply, that's still a small number.

I finished up my app and Im in the process of editing my 4 essays.

how long was all of your essays?

my short ones were like 300 and my long one was around 600
