Hi all,
I thought it would be nice to start a supportive thread as we wait out the few weeks until all decisions are released. Feel free to tell us where you have applied/are waiting to hear back from, as well as where you would love to go and any other information you wish to share. One exception-there are already so many “Chance Me” posts, so please don’t share all of your stats or ask us to rank how likely you are to get in somewhere. Everyone WILL find their way eventually, no need to heighten our anxiety. Sending out my love and best wishes to all of you!
That being said, I’m waiting to hear back from:
University of Chicago (Deferred from EA)
University of Michigan-Ann Arbor (Deferred from EA)
Boston University
Fordham University
New York University
University of California-Berkeley
University of California- San Diego
University of Southern California
I didn’t visit a lot of these schools, so it’s hard to say which one is my top choice. But of those I visited, I definitely would love to attend Ann Arbor in the fall.
I’m waiting a good number of schools:
Stanford
Cornell
Brown
Dartmouth
University of Southern California
University of Virginia
University of California-Berkeley
University of California-Los Angeles
Santa Clara University
I already know I can’t afford the UC’s, applying was wishful thinking. I haven’t visited too many schools to be honest, but I did fly out to Stanford from Virgnia… Of course, I fell in love.
Been accepted to 6 (UMinnesota, UAlabama)
Waiting on 21, I know very irrational, but am mostly looking forward to:
Harvard
Dartmouth
Brown
Vanderbilt
Princeton
Cornell
Duke
USC
Best of luck to all. But seriously don’t obsess over this. Believe it or not, you’ll get into the college you were always meant to be at. And you’re gonna love it.
I have been accepted to three:
Azusa Pacific University
CSUMB
CSUCI
Waiting on:
Sonoma State
UCSB
UCD
UCB
UCR
Pepperdine
Stanford
Hoping for Pepperdine and UCSB, I got cal grant that covers full tuition at UCs so hopefully I’ll get accepted to at least one.
@bigdreamer15 Too long honestly. I didn’t want the quality of my applications to suffer, so I dedicated at least 170 hours to all the applications in total, most likely around 220, the equivalent to about 9 whole entire days. Started working late November and didn’t stop until mid-January, working excessively during the winter break. Looking back, I would never do it again but am happy I was able to keep up and am very proud of all my applications. I wouldn’t have done any better on them if I had dedicated all my free time to them. It’s quite funny seeing my mailbox stuffed with admissions packets though, makes it somewhat worth it! :disagree:
Good luck! CA is a lovely place and Stanford is beautiful! I live close by and there is so much to do in the neighboring cities! Palo Alto and Menlo Park are great places to go and visit.
I’m still waiting to hear back from for my CS major:
University of Washington
Seattle University
Cal Poly SLO
Chapman University
Accepted to:
Purdue
U of O
Baylor
Haven’t gotten denied anywhere yet! Hopefully I can keep that streak alive.
Waiting for:
UC’s - UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCSB, UCSD, UCI
UW - Seattle
USC
NYU
Johns Hopkins
UChicago
Boston U
Tufts
Northwestern
I took a (long) roadtrip to California over mid-winter break and decided to stop by UC Berkeley, since I was in the San Francisco area. LOVE the campus!
I’m only waiting for URochester and Denison at this point! Kalamazoo sent me a likely letter last night so I know I’ve been accepted. I would love to go to Rochester should I be accepted and get enough FA, but probably won’t go to Denison regardless. I’ve gotten into a lot of good schools already (8/8 so far) so no matter what I choose, I can’t lose!
Accepted to:
University of Kansas
CU Boulder (EA)
Colorado College (EA)
Yale (likely)
Waiting on:
Harvard
Stanford
Brown
UC Irvine
UC Santa Barbara
UC Berkeley
UCLA
Amherst
Pomona
Oberlin
Vanderbilt
UChicago
Northwestern
Emory
I agree with IvyClimber117-I’m most likely not going to be able to afford the UC’s, but I visited UCLA over the summer and fell in love with the beautiful campus. I have also visited Pomona College, Colorado College, and CU Boulder.
In hindsight, I applied to too many colleges haha.
