Hey all,
I'm going to apply to GT regular decision because I feel that I could raise my chances this fall. I know UGA will look at the first semester of senior grades in their regular decision admissions, but does GT do the same? Currently my GT GPA is a 3.83 and I am very confident that I will have all A's this semester which would bump it to a 3.92. I feel that would improve my chances there. Currently my ACT is a 30 (32E 28M 29R 30S). I took it back in April. Since then I have been really focusing on my math section and have been getting a 32-34 every practice test. I will have taken 6 APs: stats(4), physics b(4), chem, calc ab, environmental science, and physics c. Do you guys think I stand a shot if I get my math act up and all A's this semester?

What do you mean by your GT gpa. They no longer refigure the gpa’s so what ever your transcript says is what they are going to go by. Anyway 3.83 is pretty good. What does is transcript gpa? BTW I wouldn’t wait to apply the chances should be higher in EA plus the worst they would probably do is deffer you and make you wait until RD.

Is this weighted GPA or Unweighted?

I thought they weighted it like UGA. My unweighted now is a 3.72 and it should be a 3.78 after this semester

GT is using the GPA (weighted) as it appears on your transcript. This is something of a new trend in admissions.

“During the application process, we will evaluate the weighted GPA listed on your high school transcript. Utilizing this method enables us to look at your grades and class selection within the context of your own high school.”

[Rigor of Curriculum and GPA | Admission](<a href=“Blow the Whistle! (404 error: page not found) | Undergraduate Admission”>Blow the Whistle! (404 error: page not found) | Undergraduate Admission)

This is a “holistic” method for reviewing GPA, and as with any holistic method, it does make it harder to predict GT’s response to your GPA…

If you apply Regular Decision GT will look at your first semester senior yer grades!

Also if you get deferred Georgia tech will look at your first semester senior grades so it doesn’t hurt to apply early
