Regular Decision Release Date fall 2022

My son got accepted but no money talk on acceptance letter. Are we looking on wrong page? Or is that means he didn’t get any money? We didn’t submitted additional work for scholarships though

Exactly!

I don’t think you need to–automatic merit consideration. We are in the same boat. Proud of him, but still . . . big sigh.

I got into U of R with a full-ride scholarship! Covers room, board, tuition, and personal travel! The Handler Scholarship is truly amazing!

My daughter was accepted as well. She’s at a tennis match so wasn’t able to log into the portal, just saw the letter. For those of you who got merit, was it mentioned in the letter, or did you have to log onto the portal?

OK about merit- I looked on the 2020-2021 Common Data set:

"Number of students in line a who had no financial need and who were awarded institutional non- need-based scholarship or grant aid: 274

Average dollar amount of institutional non-need-based scholarship and grant aid awarded to students in line n: $13,658"

This looks different from Case Western, who gives out much more merit.

Admitted but no scholarship :smiling_face_with_tear:

Admitted with Dean’s Scholarship 14K annually. DD letter was also personalized which was a nice touch.

Ds admitted but no merit. He’s a NMF and they used to have a program where NMF meant a merit scholarship. We knew it was canceled as of this year but we’re hoping for something. Oh well. He did love it but will not choose it over Purdue Honors or Case Western (31.5k per year merit).

Congrats to all who made it in, whether you end up there or not. It’s still worthy of congratulations. If UR didn’t “love” you enough for merit, hopefully another school you like did. You’re not alone and it’s not just UR that offers to some and not others. My guy had his best offer at UR (eons ago now), yet another school wanted us to pay 33K more annually giving their better scholarship money to other students. It was even a bit lower rated than UR.

Who knows how they decide what they decide?

I wish everyone all the best determining where they go.

And to those who didn’t get accepted at UR - sending hugs and also hoping you have at least one affordable acceptance somewhere you love. There are many good schools out there!

Same boat here @gingerlenny. It’s tough to consider full pay at U of R with a big scholarship from Case and low tuition at Purdue. Where is your son leaning? We’re going to Purdue Honors event on Friday and Case event mid-April. I asked my son if he wanted to visit U of R and he wasn’t sure. Without merit, the appeal isn’t great.

Congrats to all who were admitted and good luck to those on waitlists!

Are the decisions coming via email or just portal? Thanks!

Portal

DS also 4.0 unweighted (we grade out of 100; has a 98), 1550, NMF. Engineering. As I said above in but no merit. Not that we were expecting it - just really hoping. We loved our visit - attended Research Rochester. Makes his decision easier I guess. Good luck all - this’ll be over soon!

If he likes UR, you could always call and ask if you’ve missed something with those stats. Same goes for everyone out there. Mistakes happen (on their part). The worst they can say is no.
