Regular Decision Transfer Mistake

I applied to Emory for Fall 2014 as a transfer student. I got an email today saying that regular decision people find out next tuesday. I didn't think much of it since it seemed as if everything was up to date on my portal because it says "No Outstanding Materials." However, I remembered that an admissions rep told me that AP scores were required so I decided to check and make sure I sent those in. Turns out, I didn't. I asked back in March and thought I sent it then but I guess I forgot, which I feel pretty dumb about. So, I called admissions and they said if it said no outstanding materials then it means those scores weren't required, although another admissions rep told me they were. Should I be fine? I feel like it looks bad since I self reported on the common app but had no substantial documentation to prove it. I kinda feel like I ruined my chances. What do you guys think?

My daughter is entering Emory as a freshman this fall and I’m not sure we sent her AP scores. I know we’ll have to this summer for her to get course credit but unless she sent them on her own, I don’t know that hers were sent for consideration during the application process. I know we would have sent them if we had been asked to.

I can’t tell you how many goofy mistakes we made in college applications. One glaring one-- she was applying to Case Western and was reeeeally excited about it. Applied early action. She got an email a couple weeks after the deadline saying they were still waiting on her ACT scores. My D had changed her mind so many times on schools that I hadn’t sent ACT scores to Case. I banged my head on the table, she contacted Case and apologized, we paid a much larger amount to have them sent rush. And she got in. She decided not to go there (is going to Emory) but was pleased that they were flexible and willing to work with her. On the flip side, my son was reeeally excited about Butler. He applied there early action, his high school transcript got there ONE DAY past the deadline (totally my son’s fault-- not the guidance counselor) and Butler refused to consider him early action. He did later get admitted to Butler but there had been so many additional small glitches along the way that he decided it just wasn’t meant to be, and went to another school where they seemed flexible and like they really wanted him. Long story short-- applications require you to bring together a wide variety of materials under a tight deadline. Many students make oopses of one sort or another and still manage to get into good schools. If you’re a good student, they’ll be motivated to make it work. Their website says you have all your materials in and you can feel good about that. It’s hard for me to imagine they would refuse to admit you because they didn’t have AP scores that they didn’t ask for even when you called to check.

Ok great thanks! I was just hung up on it because back in March when I was sending things in for the May deadline, I emailed the office to double check and they said they needed it. So I thought I sent them at that moment, but I guess I forgot. But, now when I call and some people say they don’t require it, and my portal says I have no outstanding materials, I guess I should be fine. Thanks again!
