alright, so, i'm white, i live in nova to give you an idea of my high school situation: if UVA were a high school, this is it.
i have a 1370 SAT, good extracurriculars/activities, great essays, and great reccomendations, but i have a "low" "uncompetative" GPA of "only" 3.2 unweighted. i've taken/taking 5 APs lots of honors courses, blah blah.
anyway, i figure my chances of getting in (RD) are hovering around zero.

so i thought, why not just not even apply, go elsewhere, get some better numbers, and try to transfer if i don't like it enough where i end up.

however, i feel like i should give it a shot the first time around. but the problem with this is, if they reject me the first time around, wouldnt they just be like, we didnt want you before, why would we want you now when i send in my transfer application, because they specifically ask if you've applied before.

so should i send my snowball off into hell or not?

go for it, btw what school in northern virginia?

I'd say yes go ahead and apply now. You're right, you probably won't get in but when you apply to transfer it will show a strong desire to go here. I applied and was waitlisted so the next year I applied to transfer was accepted, so take that for what its worth but I think it demonstrates a strong desire.

whats with the 10 character limit, ps, bump
