These were my stats and I was accepted Regular Decision:
SAT I :580R 660M 630W
GPA: 3.76
Rank: 8/246

I’m in a lot of clubs and in all of them I hold an officer position, like the science, french, and national honor societies. I’m captain of my Varsity Girls Tennis Team too this year.
I’ve taken nothing but honors and AP’s. In total 6, but I only took one exam and got a three on it. I’m taking two AP exams this year.

I have 300+ volunteer hours from volunteering in my neighborhood, other neighborhoods, in my school, at the library. I’ve gotten the Bronze and Silver Presidential Awards too.

And finally I’ve been in my school’s choir for four years, and auditioned and got in the Select choir every year, along with being in concert band playing mallet percussion, and auditioned and got in our school’s JAZZ BAND A which is like the highest music-related group in our school. The music is really hard, and every year we compete at the national level at multiple competitions, so this really showed my dedication to a group.

All in all, I knew my SAT wasn’t the best but I had great extra curriculars! I applied RD which I knew would hurt my chances, but hey. Proves to show that they just want an all rounded applicant I guess.

got my acceptance letter 3 days ago! so happy!
gpa 3.2 with 7 ap courses
sat 1810 620 m 610 cr 580 w
3 sport captain (xc, indoor track and baseball)
alot of volunteer work
essay was probably the best thing i’ve ever written

Am I missing something? I logged on using the information they gave me, went to check my application status, I got that page that has all of my information regarding my application, but I don’t see anything about a decision?

Im RD but someone above me asked if these acceptances were for RD and somebody said that they were. Not to mention this thread is titled “Regular Decision” so aren’t these all for RD?

the RD decisions have been very few so far. It is my opinion (no real facts behind it) that for the most part, they are doing the out of NY state first. I have heard of a few acceptances on RD and all of the ones that I heard have been out of state, Thats not to say some NYers have not gotten acceptances but I think there is still probably 85% or more that has not been done yet.

RD
2170 SAT 800 CR/650M/720W
98 WGPA, 91 UW
9 APs spread between Junior and Senior year
Mostly music ECs, nothing “special” really, though music takes up most of my time.

I got accepted but that’s because I’m an athlete and because like the person above said I’m out of state. I didn’t receive anything in the mail yet but I found out on Friday.

2 of my friends from nyc got in today so idk when they’ll come out. i applied to binghamton 12/31 and they sent me an email that they reviewed my application so idk when i’m going to get it.

Is there a pattern to these acceptances or is it just in random bundles? I’ve been hearing that all SUNYs are now rolling but I submitted my application way early in November but I just read that someone that submitted it on January got accepted already. Its getting me worried!

I just got mine today too. Long Island Resident. I was so happy to finally get a college acceptance. It was a little weird though because my mid year grades just went out today.

@drandmrsbing I could totally understand why you would be upset. My daughter also has STATS similar to yours. We live in NY. I dont understand when I see STATS lower who get admitted especially out of state. I saw this back in 2010 when my son was waitlisted as well. I could see if their EC’s were not strong or did not take AP’s and honors. I also feel being deferred we are kind of stuck in the back of the RD’s now. It makes me sad when you know how hard your child has worked. I guess we wait for RD.

We did the info session and tour at Binghamton today. The admissions office presenter said that they have only a certain number of seats to allocate to early action candidates. Once those seats are filled, he said, the rest are deferred to the regular-decision group and considered anew.

It does seem that they got more applications than in previous years but he didn’t give any numbers.

It was COLD–temps in the low teens, wind chills in the low single digits, and snow flurries! There were many families there, and the tour guides were great!

Good to hear oldmom…my daughter is heading up there on Thursday to visit with some current students. I told her to head to admissions…take a tour if she can. An official visit cant hurt. Are you RD?
