Yankeelover, We also live in No. NJ and my son’s acceptance arrived today. I would think a rejection would reach you even faster because it’s just a small envelope, so don’t give up hope.

Accepted… received an email today…maybe because iam an international student, they emailed me but the mail is on their way
I hope the best for all of you.
Good Luck! :)

Congrats everyone! Has anyone in California heard yet? I’m guessing we have a few more days to wait (:

Acceptance received in western PA. D was home due to act 80 day and called me at work (4 times until I was able to answer! Lol). Gburg is her first choice so we are hoping we can make the $ work. She was also admitted to the conservatory. Her stats are: 1970 SAT, 3.96 UW, top 10% (her school doesn’t rank).

Accepted in Northern CA!

Stats -
ACT 28
SAT 1240 CR and M
UW 3.8 W 4.05

Good luck everyone!!!

Now I’m thinking they sent the acceptance and WL out on one day, and the rejections out the next day. No word yet here in suburban NYC (which is not very far away from northern NJ).

simx38 - I was thinking the same thing----the big envelopes take longer. But then I called admissions and they said that envelopes went out Tues. and Wed. even though FB posted that they went out Mon. We know someone in the next town that received his acceptance yesterday. Getting nervous that someone in CA got theirs already. Not looking good for us.

Accepted in the Chicago suburbs. 33 ACT, 3.22 UW , W 3.67

Accepted in Southern California! 31 ACT, 3.72 GPA

Waitlisted - arrived in the Saturday mail (March 22nd).

S got accepted, got the letter today, 3/22/14! Miami, Florida.

D still hasn’t received the letter but got an email from Gettysburg welcoming her as an accepted student and to set up a phone call with a current Gettysburg student. So I guess that means she’s in!

Followup - yes my daughter did get into Gettysburg. She received a call from a current student, congratulating her on her acceptance. Plus, they offered her a very, very generous FA package. I’ll be honest - neither my daughter nor I are sure why. Gettysburg was a huge reach for her. Her GPA is so-so (3.4), her SAT was just decent (600 M, 710 V, 630 W) and her ECs were almost non-existent. We’re still reeling a bit because we just never ever expected this - plus all that money to add to it. She had pretty much decided on a close in-state school already but hasn’t given a commitment yet so we’re not locked in. I am, of course, delighted for her but now the hard part is deciding what to do with this surprise acceptance.

I want to add that my kid isn’t a bad student or anything. She just had a tumor in her head that she had to deal with for a few years in high school so things like her GPA and ECs suffered for it. Perhaps her Guidance Counselor put that in his recommendation or something??? We’re just so shocked by this acceptance!

Southbel–I’m so glad you’re daughter got in. Given what your daughter was dealing with, I think her stats are great. I would also imagine that that kind of perseverance is exactly what a lot of schools are looking for. Congratulations.

southbel – same here – S didn’t get anything in the mail but he did get an email from the Accepted Students committee saying they would call last night! Congrats to all!

Thanks everyone. We’re excited and a bit overwhelmed here in our house. Congratulations to everyone that got into Gettysburg!

Accepted in China! 2030 SAT

so if one hasn’t received anything as of today(Local) does it mean that he/she was rejected?

I was waitlisted, I can’t say necessarily that I’m shocked… but I’m a little surprised.
My brother applied a few years ago and received a tremendous merit award package.
He had a 3.3 GPA, I have a 3.58. I have a 1990 SAT and I’m not sure what his was but I’m pretty sure it was in the same ballpark area.
We both have strong EC’s including leadership; I probably have more volunteering under my belt.
We both have taken 10 AP’s and have done well on all of them.
Well… anyway… I never visited or expressed interest so maybe that’s a factor?

D accepted with Presidential Scholarship. 31 ACT, 3.86 cum, #8 class rank, strong ECs. She is delighted.
