Regular Decision

I applied in October regular decision and haven’t heard back. Has anyone received a response yet? Thanks

I applied to Umass Amherst in December as regular decision and I didn’t hear back yet.

On the TCNJ page it says:

**The College of New Jersey prides itself on giving every application the most thorough review possible. While TCNJ makes every effort to notify students regarding their admission decision as early as possible (starting in early March), some applications will undergo multiple reviews before a final decision is made. Therefore, the Admissions Office can only guarantee that a general admission decision will be mailed prior to April 1st, no matter how early the student applies.

I did some research awhile back, and I found the following information that I believe we will all find helpful. Last year, there was a dispute about when decisions will go out. TCNJ, as all admissions offices due, was being vague about when they would actually mail the letters by so that if something went wrong they were fine. They had said that the letters would not go out until March 1st; however, a counselor on here said February 15th. Letters last year were mailed on a certain day, and people received them as early as February 19th. Given that last year’s February 15th was a Saturday, and this year it will be a Sunday, I do not expect a great deviation from the dates. However, all of that aside, processes change from year to year, and you never know what to expect for this year. Also, they release in batches (last batch will be right before April 1st) so you never know when you will be notified. Hope I helped!

Looks like a batch went out recently. Check out their twitter.

That was ED2 I think but not sure- they explicitly said they would tweet when any came out

On their twitter, they said regular decision will begin going out on March 1st and everyone will have a decision no later than April 1st.

Looks like TCNJ just tweeted a picture of the USPS mail bins hinting the decisions will be in the mail very soon. Good luck everyone applying RD

Guys, if you check the portal and click “accept admission” then it might say that they offer you admission. I just checked mine and it looks like I was accepted, because before it said that they had no admission to offer me.

Yes, son just checked and when he selects “accept admission” it does say he was accepted. Does anyone know when merit scholarships are announced?

I heard they tell you in the acceptance letter.

Hi. I checked my portal but I currently have no available admissions decisions; however, I did receive an email last night about that optional survey in lieu of interviews. Does anyone know if this means I am rejected or borderline? Thank you.

Found out through the aforementioned method- accepted.

Nothing in my portal. (Maybe because I applied to the 7 yr medical program?)

For those already accepted, do you mind posting stats and when you sent in your app? Thanks.

Son accepted via portal by checking “accepted admission” SATs 2100 gpa 4.0 many AP and honors classes. I’m sure acceptance via mail should come shortly. Applied right before Christmas break.

@Aly310‌ I was accepted today via portal (no letter in mail yet ) and applied on November 3rd. 2150 SAT, 4.085 GPA, with AP & Honors and ECs as well

@Aly310 I was accepted today! I checked on the portal, applied October 7th. 32 ACT, 1950 SAT 4.5 gpa, 4 APs, 3 Honors, lots of extras too

Accepted via portal. Applied Nov 4th.
1930 SAT, 3.7 GPA, 5 AP’s + Honors. Lots of consistent EC’s + multiple leadership roles.
TCNJ is a top choice but probably won’t commit until all results are in.
Congrats to all of those accepted!

@Aly310 My son received acceptance in the mail today. SAT 1500/2120, 3.94 unweighted, 5APs + Honors, and I forget when he applied, but it was Dec. or Jan.
@Mamahills OOS scholarship was included with acceptance.
@RegularGuy1 What makes TCNJ your top choice? Where else have you applied?
Does anyone know which dorms are for freshman honors? Thanks, all.
