Regular Decision

When do they start sending out the RD letters? Can you see online your status? My daughter applied and we are waiting to hear as this is her top choice. Trying to plan on visits to campus is difficult when you don’t know yet.

Did you call admissions? They are super nice, nothing like getting it from the source

I did hear that all will be notified by the end of March and that it is on the student portal page. I don’t know if they start sending out letters before that. End of March is really late when you have to give a decision to the university by May 1st. We want to visit before she completely decides. That leaves April to visit the campus. She says SCU is her top choice but she hasn’t visited any campuses yet other than WA ones.

Last couple years it has been 17th or 18th, the typical time for many schools that don’t send early like February. Some UCs (the biggies - Cal and UCLA) tend to come out later in March as do many schools, so families are sent scrambling for April or spring break travel plans. Since you are Seattle (I am assuming from user name), did you consider assuming she gets in and booking a flight on Southwest? They are fab cause you can cancel and use 100% of the travel funds anytime in the next 12 months to any destination they fly. I would think positive and plan, cause thousands are doing the same causing rates to go way up if you wait till mid March to book.

When one of mine was going through this we thought we would check out one final school at the last minute, it was $2200 for both of us to fly round trip to do that. ouch. Best to plan early, and great if you can make refundable travel plans.
