I turned my stuff in around Jan 1st to the engineering school. Around what time can I expect a decision letter back from them?

Late. They still haven't replied to a lot of people who applied in November. I'd guess mid March, assuming they have to tell you by March 31st.

it'll be awhile i'm assuming.
my app was ready the end of nov and i haven't heard anything back.

I applied in Mid Jan , does that mean that ill be getting a decision in mid or the end of April then?

Som, all universities, Michigan included, respond by April 1. And all universities expect admitted students to make their mind up on whether they wish to accept the offer by May 1.

Oh, i thought Umich offered rolling admissions as they said ull get ur decision by 8 -12 weeks from the day u apply. Oh well

Thx for the info Alexandre

i did a complete written application and sent it to michigan postmarked 13th december by courier. on jan 7 i was informed of a document missing/pending which i scanned that night itself and by jan 15 i was told im in. i havent received the mail yet but an email came along and my wolverine access window now shows a "view decision" link where i found my decision.

however, around 7 more students from my school applied in the month of jan and NONE OF THEM, even one that couriered postmarked dec 22 (must have been checked on jan after christmas holidays and stuff) have received any sort of update.

i guess since the deadline has been reached, no more rolling decisions will be given out:S

Some applicants get a quick turnaround because their applications are real standouts. Not everyone who applies on the same day will hear a decision on the same day, even if they applications are completed and evaluated at the same time.

oh thats great. That means I can expect a reply anywhere between April 1st and today lol...anyway thx for ur help every1 :)

Still no decisions! I don't think they have released since the end of EA, thought for sure it would be this week.

they did actually . 5 ppl from a school in my city got into Umich LSE as ross preferred admits.

sorry for the double post but how do u know when Umich releases decisions? is it weekly or something like that?

Admissions say they release every Friday, about 10-12 weeks after app was final. I think very few decisions have been made since EA, as others have posted probably just top of the heap. If you missed EA (like my D with a late teacher rec) we are still waiting. We are close to 12 weeks now, so once again I'm sure it will be this week!

som1,

did the students from your school, got accepted into LSE as ross PA, apply as EA? or RA? I thought the PA applications didn't come out til December? Do those admitted students got amazing GPA or SAT scores?

Which city are you from?

Hi weedeeg. Those students werent from my school. They were all PA to ross, and im not quite sure whether they were EA or RA,good sat/gpa but nothing too amazing.

Take this with a pinch of salt coz ive heard this info from somebody else who was in those ppl's school though that guy is a reliable source..

som, I doubt your source was accurate. Altogether, roughly 100 of the thousands of PA applicants get in. Unless that school you refer to is ranked #1 in all of Asia and sends 30% of their students to HYPSM and the rest to top 25 universities, I think there was some confusion. They probably got into LSA and assumed they were admitted into Ross. I know several students from Dubai who thought they got into Ross but then realized they only got into LSA. Fortunately, they all successfully got into Ross once at Michigan. But make not mistake, it takes aspectacular applicant to get preadmitted into Ross. The mean SAT for Ross' first preadmit class was 1420/1600. This year, I would guess it should be close to 1450/1600 or 2200/2400.

yea ur prolly right about the PA thingy.

Have they released Ross PA already? I thought Jan 5 was the cutoff for PA apps and all the eligible PA cases turned over to Ross for evaluation.
