Regular Decisions Are Out!

For Olin at least.

Just got an e-mail about 30 minutes ago saying:

"Dear agentbauer,

Congratulations! Later this month, you will receive a letter from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Washington University, informing you of your admission to the John M. Olin School of Business as a member of the Class of 2011. You have been selected from an extraordinarily talented group of applicants to join the class of new first-year students who will enter Olin next fall.

Each student who is being offered admission to Olin's entering class has outstanding credentials. You are among an especially select group with great potential to contribute to making Olin an even better school, and to benefit from the exceptional educational opportunity we offer.

We know how special you are; and we want you to see for yourself how special Olin can be for your undergraduate education. We are delighted to invite you and your parents to the Olin Spotlight Weekend, which is being hosted jointly by the Olin School and the Olin Ambassadors, a group of our most enthusiastic current students, who serve as hosts and tour guides for prospective students considering joining the Olin community.

It continues..."

congrats :)

Ugh... now the rest of us have to keep waiting on pins and needles.

CONGRATS!!!!

eeek! I hope that doesnt mean Im rejected lol. Anyways, CONGRATS =)

i got the same email, congrats

wow...i REALLY hope that not getting that email doesnt mean I'm automatically rejected..but definitely congrats!

The title of this thread scared me. I hope all decisions come out soon! I can't wait!

I got the same letter. Apparently only the Olin kids got letters, everyone else hears back in a few days. Who else is going to the Spotlight weekend?

Ok yeah you scared me Lol.

I want to hug WashU (or maybe Olin) for sending decisions this early. Spotlight weekend sounds interesting.

Do all of the students that Olin admits hear by now or just the "best of the bunch"?

Also could we get sum general stats? SAT/ACT/SAT II/GPA/Rank? =] Thanks!

Yeah, in fact let me create an RD decisions thread for Wash U. Wait a few minutes y'all.

Edit: post away for the benefit of posterity-- http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?p=3701477#post3701477

Congratulations!!

i got this too and i'm afraid they're gonna be like "OOOPS!! J/K LOLLZZZ" cuz that would really be a blow to my self esteem.

come on, you had enough panicking while waiting for your decision. you got in, trust me

congrats, are you gonna matriculate?

THANKS! i'm not sure about matriculation just yet though. i'm def gonna fly down their to visit, cuz well, their paying airfare! lol. i'm still waiting for umich ross pre-admit (i'm michigan instate) and nyu stern. i just always thought that washU was way too good for me and come april 1 a rejection letter. i seriously wasn't expecting an early admission and i was like hyperventilating when i got the email. its also been good for my self esteem cuz alot ppl @ my school end up @ umich and sum ppl who i've got better stats than have gone on to notre dame and stuff so its nice to see that their is some justice in this world and just validates that i'm not just gonna "settle" for umich when i know i can do better. and by better i mean sumwhere along the lines of berkeley or rice. def NOT washU caliber, esp when i have super smart friends panicking about being deferred from brown or unchicago, which are both ranked below washU.

Quick Question and Congratulations! Did those of you who received emails also have a new "Status" button on the website reflecting your admission decision? Or did you get an email alone? Congrats!

so basically if you didn't get an email, you are rejected?

I got that e-mail too and I'm very excited.
