For real. They said the first batch that got let in for regular descision were all people who met the requirements for EA but for whatever reason didnt get accepted then.

Umm... I applied RD (not EA!) and got accepted in the "first batch". I applied late december.

Right. They accepted everyone who wouldve met the criteria for RD. Apparently you wouldve met those standards.

oh whatever

the admission deposit and housing app for my other choice is due March 31st...sooooo lol...I think I'm gonna go ahead and pay it...UGA is irritating me...

Fan-fricking-tastic.

Anyone else a little frustrated that you keep having to check this thing all the time instead of them telling you when to check? I'm a little ****ed at UGA right now because I have good scores (2150 or a 1460) and good grades(3.7), but I went to a private Atlanta-area school which apparently is a bad thing when it comes to UGA admissions. I got deferred EA and haven't heard a whisper concerning RD. It's starting to make me resistant to this school...

I feel your pain. I feel the same way and its really frustrating but they have to announce it soon anyway so I just have to stop worrying about it. No matter what a decision is made in less than a month.

I'm beginning to feel the same way Mhanley. I mean, I'm not depending on this school...I've already been accepted to my other four schools, but I'd just like to know whether or not I'm in. It's my first choice, so I can't really make a decision until I hear from them. I'll be so bummed if I end up getting rejected and have wasted all this time for sending in my housing application for my second choice school. Let's just say, if I get rejected from UGA and don't get my number one housing choice at MU-Ohio (my very close second choice), I'll be so mad.

I agree...I'm so f'ing sick of UGA right now...even though I SAY that I don't care anymore I still find myself checking my status everyday because they won't give anyone a SPECIFIC date for the posting of all of the results......I just need to know so I can make my decision already...it's holding me up...I'm gonna end up with crappy housing at my second choice if I wait too long...

have you guys checked the housing contracts for your second choices?

i think most colleges let you apply for housing, but withdraw for nonattendence

Rodlo- I am in about the same situation. MUOhio is a very close #2 for me, and I have gotten in there.

fromdistantstar--
My #2 school (MU-Ohio) requires a $350 deposit...non-refundable. :(

Mhanley--
Yep, definitely can't go wrong with Miami. Everyday I get that much closer to just enrolling there. :p

Yeah, I already paid my deposit to my second choice (AU), and they have sent me housing info and summer orientation/camp stuff also. I'm still waiting on UGA's decision and its quite frustrating to be uncertain about your future school, in FRICKIN MIDDLE MARCH of your graduation year. But its all good, I have good faith I'll get accepted.

And boy do I feel sorry for yall that were deferred EA and still waiting, 5 months no decision, sheesh. Hold on to UGA, a decision must come soon, keep ya heads up!

You know, for the more "high-ranked" schools, ivies, etc., decisions are generally made in like, April. It's not that bad.

really.............................

Okay, thanks.

Ive already told yall that theres not point in checking untll the very end of the month. If you call the admissions office they'll tell you the same thing.

well, I called and I just got the "file reading" recording...

right now i'm a sophomore. I got 1 d when I was a freshman, but havve been making A's and B's since and am taking all honors and AP classes. My GPA will be pretty high by the end of my Junior year. Do you think that if I apply early decision I'll get in?

you're a sophmore...go have fun- if you have a d, then you need 3 a's to cancel it out to get back to a 3.0, which is the minimum UGA will take... avg doesn't really matter except that it generally reflects your GPA. For every C, you need an A. You need to average at least a B, and unfortunately, an 89 will go the same as an 80, so if you have all 89's except 1 79, you probably would find troubles...all this is moot as you are a sophmore and should be outside.
