Regular Decisions

My S was waitlisted last year with a 1970 SAT, 32 ACT, 3.9 gpa. He got in off the waitlist. Don’t be depressed if you’re waitlisted, you still can get in. He did make sure he emailed the admissions office with any new improvements during the course of the spring.

Yeah I called undergrad admissions about tabs. They told me that tabs will be updated on thursday for people who got in. So if you got in but did not get new tabs to pay the enrollment fee or to find out about financial aid DONT WORRY because they will be out by this time tmrw.

go deferred EA and then waitlisted RD…but i dont think im going to put my name on the waitlist
stats are:
2100 SATS
740 math II SatII
650 US history Sat II

3.95 W GPA, 7 AP’s total, National Honors Society, president/founder of free the children club, best buddies, hpi, indoor/outdoor track, tennis, piano, painting
basically…i was expecting to get in…but now that i didnt i dont really want to go there anymore lol

Accepted into Honors Program!

Caucasian male
Rank-1/230 (Public HS in Mass)
SAT-2200
Sat II-720, 710
lots of EC’s, nothing special, but a bunch of leadership positions.
Hook-none at all

a few people got in from my school today… some of them are really smart and others arent at the top of the class but had a lot of EC’s

Accepted into Honors program today! I live about 40 minutes from BC, so an early letter was expected.

Stats:
White male
SAT: 2320
GPA: 3.7 UW, 4.0+ W
Rank: Just outside top 10%

Super excited!!! Does anyone know when the finaid tab will be up? I’m curious…

Wait list comes in a small normal sized envelope and contains two pieces of paper, so it should be bigger than a denial letter I assume…Also, to the person that had a child get accepted off of the wait list, any idea how long it took for them to accept him after being on the wait list?

rejected.
i knew it was a bit of a stretch but it was my first choice by far so it definitely stings. Walking in and looking at the pile of mail on the counter with that tiny white envelope on top was tough. My dad tried to give me the old “their loss” speech but i just couldn’t hear it. I’ve got plenty of schools to choose from but none with the appeal of BC for me. I honestly have no idea where I’m going to end up.

I was deferred EA and still have not heard anything in the RD round. I imagine it will take a while for any envelope to reach me here in Hawaii… Maybe May 2nd. Ha.

so… if you don’t get tabs by tomorrow, you’re rejected? =(

sorry for the double post, but also… do they add tabs for JUST accepted people, or also waitlists?

^ I’m curious about what gashergina asked, too.

so if we dont have tabs tomorrow, are we supposed to expect a small envelope to follow??? are all tabs going up tomorrow??

I’d say don’t check the tabs and just let it be what it will.

@Kitch12: I completely know how you feel!! I have gotten into a lot of very decent schools but I’d rather go to BC over all of them. If I get rejected tomorrow I really don’t know where I will be going to college. I guess we’ll see…

waitlisted…
2250 sat (800 cr, 800 w, 650 m)
3.5 unweighted gpa
5 ap us history exam
700 lit, 730 ush
editor of school paper, reporter at local newspaper, contributor to seventeen magazine, recipient of several natl. and intl. writing awards
boys varsity golf (i’m a girl), girls varsity tennis
oh well… i don’t care that much haha. bc wasn’t my top choice. but this is pretty ominous for all my other reaches :/

Same here guys, I am very sure that I will be outright rejected or waitlisted tomorrow. I have several other decent schools, but none that are like Boston College. I have no clue how to decide if the small letter arrives.

is it me or does it seem like a lot of the high scorers are getting waitlisted/rejected?
i only have a 2000 on my SATs! im getting so nervous

Cronin43 - He got taken off the waitlist in late May.

maybe BC was trying to protect their yield from these 2200+ SAT applicants? Helps the rest of us (~2k) if they are, since we are more likely to actually attend.
