Regular Decisions

wow guys, i’m so scared… people with pretty high stats are getting rejected. I have a 2280 superscored but only a UW 3.5 and W 3.8…

COLMOM, thank you so much. Now I have yet another ominous time period to let hang over my head haha I love college.

are there certain things that bc looks for? they didn’t even have a supplemental essay…

Got into honors program today…

GPA: 4.0 uw, 4.6 w
SAT: 790m, 790r, 730w (2310)
SAT II: 780 us history, 720 math II, 690 chem
ACT: 35
School: Public
Rank: top 5% (school doesn’t do further than that)
EC’s: dance for 14+ years, dance teacher, some volunteer stuff
Hook: none really, I guess that I’m Iranian and a National Merit Finalist?

I live about 30 min from BC so I knew I would hear today. It was nice to get in - especially to the honors program - after a reject from UNC Chapel Hill over the weekend. It’s an option, but I don’t really want to go to school near my house. Several others from my school got in or waitlisted. My best friend got rejected and I feel terrible, so honestly, it is THEIR LOSS if you don’t get in. Good luck everyone!

S rejected.

SAT 1990/2400, 1350/1600
SAT-II 770, 790
GPA 4.28w

deferred, and now waitlisted.

good luck to people who haven’t gotten their decisions yet!

soooo if no tabs tomorrow, then not in?
did anybody answer that?

I’m getting insanely nervous :(

I should get my decision tomorrow since I’m NY. Only 2030 SAT and 3.7 UW for Carroll…I hope I still have a shot.

me too VF.
only 2000 SAT
3.75 UW
4.0 W
ugh.
applied to CAS though

Well, as your name says, don’t stop believing! Haha. Hopefully my smorgasbord of EC’s (2 varsity sports + captain on both, Area All-State musician on both trumpet and vocals being the biggest ones) gave me a lift!

deferred and now waitlisted
4.4 weighted
SAT 720 R, 710 M, 800 W (2230)
SAT II 690 spanish, 690 english lit

…good thing i already committed to another school! good luck to everyone who is still waiting

This is not making me feel good.

Yeah, all these people being waitlisted/rejected with these high scores is just crazy…

^ INSANELY high scores. I feel like my scores will make me an auto WL or reject. I have like ZERO hope for an acceptance.

i got a letter from bc today and i didnt get in.
BC was one of my top choices (NYU, BC, UVa, Emory) and it kind of sucks i didnt get in…
but i got in to my #1 top choice NYU so i dont worry about it too much though.
what i am worried is i dont think i will get into Uva or Emory since i didnt even get into BC…
but yea, no really big worry for me, i would definatly choose NYU over BC anyway.
my SAT scores were around 2050.

Everyone is being WAY TOO hard on themselves. A friend of mine in Dedham, MA, told me that his friend got rejected and he earned 2340 on his SATs. 6 APS – 4s and 5s. There is simply no rhyme or reason. Yet, there is something called “Tufts Syndrome” – google it. This BC situation actually made more sense to me after I read it. Basically, the schools assume the high scoring students are going elsewhere, so they waitlist or reject them to get a hold of the students they know will come.

I didn’t get in. I had a 2010 SAT, 3.5 and 4 GPA, like 5 EC leadership positions, I’m Asian and Female…I really liked BC, but the nice thing is that if I get into Bucknell, I can def say I’m going there…which is my number 1 anyways. I also live like 40 minutes from BC, and like 4 alumni kids from my school already got in EA or just now…and one can’t certainly do anything about their legacy.

hahaa it’s all a crapshooot, I was hoping, but not really DEF expecting, especially with all these high school rejections. Best of luck to you all :] plus, if next year gets really bad, I’ll transfer somewhere and the best part…we’re all going to college!

He has a point. It is a great thing that we are all going to college in the first place. Don’t take everything for granted.

Plus, there’s always transfer…lol

I am sorry for all that got rejected and I know you don’t even feel like coming to this forum again, but just in case someone drops by, can you tell us whether you have the tabs for enrollment fee and FA notification on your Agora web site.

Judging by the scores and stats of the rejected and waitlisted students, I’m sure my son’s application provided the application committee with at least a half hour of uproarious laughter, speculating as to just how high he was when he even thought of applying.
