Regular decsion letter

Nah, it came in a huge envelope.

Stats:

GPA: ~3.6 (4.0 since junior year)
Rigor: 8 APs (US History, English Lang, Psychology, Statistics, US Gov, Euro History, Microeconomics, English Lit) Also a self-study in Macroeconomics.
SAT superscored: CR - 690, M - 790, W - 740 (2220/2400)
ECs: Very good, with a few excellent leadership roles and national awards in my marching band.
Essays: Honestly, I BSed them. Not trying to sound cocky, but I waited until last minute to do them (not the most responsible move, I know)

As far as my financial situation, I am going to commute, which allows me to only worry about tuition and books. I received around a $35K package, which was a pleasant surprise.

Anyone else get a letter yet?

@alankong - Nothing here in Colorado…really hoping for something today. Especially if it is true that information was mailed on Monday. Gracieo

Mail just came in MA…still nothing.

Accepted! Got my letter today in Princeton, NJ
I had a 2000 on my SAT and 3.5 GPA and was waitlisted at Lehigh, Bucknell, and Villanova

I live in NJ too. This is the last school I’m waiting to hear from. My Stats are similiar to yours and I was also waitlisted at Lehigh and Bucknell. Accepted at F&M and Gettysburg.

Big envelope just arrived here in Upstate NY but will leave for my son to open when he gets home.

Just got my envelope, ACCEPTED! Ok, so now I have to decide between Lafayette, F&M and Gettysburg. I’m an economics/business major. I’m going to attend the accepted students day at each school to help make up my mind. Anybody have any thoughts???

Those three schools are all solid, and really fairly similar. Lafayette has an engineering school, but that seems unimportant to you.

You need to find out which school best fits you. That means location, atmosphere and type of kids. Don’t worry about which school has a better business department or English department or something like that. All three schools are solid academically, and most kids change their major after they start, anyway. I would make a bet with you that 25 years from now that you’ll be working in a field that has nothing to do with your current plans/dreams, but I will probably have croaked by then. This is coming from someone who evaluates executives for companies, so I’ve seen the backgrounds of thousands of people, and who is now 30 years out of college.

Assuming that the costs are about the same, the best answer is that you should spend a weekend at each school, which would include seeing Friday classes. That’s three weekends in the next month to evaluate what will be the second most expensive purchase in your life (the house is the most expensive, but the college will allow you to afford it).

I wouldn’t simply attend the accepted students day. This is like trying to judge a school from the college tour (they don’t show you what has been swept under the rug). If you don’t know any current students at the school, call the school, and they’ll set you up for an overnight with a student, who hopefully will give you a more accurate picture.

You’re making an investment of $200,000 or so (even if you’re getting aid or scholarships, the total value is about $200,000), so this is time well spent.

Acceptance packet delivered today in South Jersey!

My son also got a large envelope today. He won’t be home for a few hours though. Did anyone get scholarship or financial aid info along with the acceptance?

Congrats to All! My S was accepted to Lafayette and now has to decide between Laf (no FA or scholarship) and Union College (Presidential Scholarship).

What an awesome personalized acceptance letter! So thrilled that Union values who I am and not the numbers that supposedly represent who I am.

@politicalnerd12 - Do you mean Lafayette? Did you get accepted to Union too?

We didn’t get anything in the mail today and now I’m really worried. I’m hoping it’s just because we might be a bit farther away…in Colorado.

Can everyone who got accepted post their stats and where they live.

Also, did the big envelope come regular mail or 2 day?

I’m hoping this doesn’t mean that the acceptance packets were sent the day before the rejection letters and a rejection letter comes tomorrow.

Thanks…Gracieo

Was accepted today from North Jersey! Over the moon!
BIG ENVELOPE

Financial Aid: Yes! And they gave me almost 30k for Freshman year, which was wonderful!

I also applied to: Rutgers, TCNJ, Ursinus, UDel, Fordham, Northeastern, NYU, and Lehigh.
I was accepted at all of them, but wait-listed at Lehigh.

Waitlist letter today for S Disappointed Stats - 3.6 GPA 2040 SAT 32 ACT 5 APs 2 sports Eagle Scout EC’s great interview. Accepted at Gettysberg and Muhlenberg among others. Going to stay on waitlist. Didn’t get applicatiion in until near deadline for RD. Does anyone think that worked against him?

Got in today! Probably won’t go though unless the accepted students day us truly amazing

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using CC

@omhhey - congrats! Where else were you accepted? Does the acceptance packet give a date for accepted students day? Gracieo

thanks! got in a few other places, but my top two right now are lehigh (dean & eckardt scholar) and william and mary which is also instate for me. i loved lafayette, but its hard to fade 50k a year. yeah i think it comes with a few. i was planning on the april 22nd date.

Hey guys! I’m really happy that you all got accepted, I want to congratulate each of you. That’s seriously awesome I was waitisted If you guys don’t mind, I would really appreciate if you would let Lafayatte know if you are going to attend or not by May 1st, because the sooner you let them know of your decision, the sooner I will know if I am off the waitlist and will be accepted (they told me I will know sometime between April 23rd to May 16th) I realized I made the biggest mistake not doing early decision at Lafayette because it’s truly where I want to go, definitely would be my number one school. Awe thanks guys, I really appreciate it!
