Im a junior in highschool right now. Since honors precalc couldnt fit in with my schedule, im now taking regular precalc. I asked the head of the math department and i will still be able to take BC next year. Should i ask to switch to honors calculus instead? Im guessing the best thing to do would be to take the course that will cover the most material on the SAT IIC, right? Im guessing regular precalc would be the way to go then?

It depends. Precalculus is fairly easy to self-study, so if you can do that go with Calculus. However, if you will miss out on precalc. totally (no studying, etc.) then go with precalculus. I guess it just depends on how well you study.

Pre-Calc? I'm doing that next year. (sophomore)

Go for Honors Calc. I just got done with my Precalc placement exam yesterday after studying for precalc for 3 weeks and it wasnt bad... Your better off spending a year in Calc and practicing Calc as opposed to precalc which is imo pretty boring and a repetition..

mexican, thats very good. But most people take it in junior year.....

I took regular precalc last year too as a sophomore. I kind of wish I would have taken honors precalc though because the regular class went pretty slow. It wasn't very hard at all but I am glad that I took it because I think it will help to have a good foundation for calculus this year.
