Just wondering, how difficult/risky will it be for me to jump from regular PreCalc to AP Calc, especially if 90% of regular PreCalc kids go on to regular Calc 1, and most kids in AP Calc have taken Honors PreCalc?

Obviously you shouldn’t be asking us because regular Pre Calc at your school could be harder than any math class in my school.

My school only has AP Calculus classes: AP Calculus IA, AP Calculus IB (not international baccalaureate), AP Calculus AB/BC. I wish my school had Calculus I. Many students say that Pre-Calculus is harder than Calculus itself. Pre-Calculus is simply material and skills that you’ll use in Calculus. There’s no Calculus in Pre-Calculus at all. I don’t think it’s TOO risky, AP Calculus will just go at a faster pace, and you’ll be required to know the appropriate skills once you step in the classroom.
