My son just received an invitation to participate in the Reilly Visitation Program at ND. ND was one of his top choices but we're in VA and he hasn't had a chance to visit yet. We were very disappointed to learn they were on spring break this week because we'd been planning on going out there then.

We hadn't heard of this program before and weren't expecting an admission decision from Notre Dame for a couple of more weeks, so the letter was a complete surprise. He's very excited!

I’m a member of the class of '14 and I went on Reilly EA Weekend last year. First off, Reilly was really amazing and completely changed my ideas about ND. Before Reilly, I didn’t have any major interest in Notre Dame and didn’t know anything about the traditions and community (cheesy, I know) here that you really can’t find anywhere else. If you’re accepted to Reilly, I HIGHLY recommend attending. This is basically ND’s way of recruiting smart kids. They take you out to nice dinners, send you to interesting lectures, and even give you free sweatpants (wear them with pride; former Reilly students will recognize these on campus). The one problem I had with Reilly weekend is that I didn’t feel like the group they selected quite represents the student body. Some of the other Reilly students had already decided to not attend ND and were not very involved with the weekend. My fellow students are the best thing about this university, but I don’t think the Reilly weekend fully showcases that.
Well, if you have any questions, feel free to ask! Once again, congrats!

Let me put it this way,
I got a full ride to a top liberal arts college and I will get close to zero FA at Notre Dame, but I loved Reilly weekend (EA) so much that I am considering giving up $230,000 to go to ND.

If you’re undecided, I would HIGHLY recommend it.
One of the best things, other obviously being at ND, is that the other students are all in the same boat as you: Lots of scholarship options, Ivy League acceptances, etc. and it’s great to meet people who really understand the decisions in front of you, including the current ND students who run the weekend (they were all Reillys).

IF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE, GO!
You won’t regret it.

PM me if you have other questions!

P.S. The sweatpants are amazing and legendary. Have I convinced you yet?

I would have to agreee with everyone else, i attended the Reilly weekend earlier this March with the EA admitted students, and it was awesome. I loved just blending in with the current students, and got a taste of what ND was like. I would highly reccomend going.

apparently it did Morgan’s. As for me, it definitely encouraged me and the only reasons I wouldn’t attend ND are if I am accepted to a school next week that offers better financial aid (and that I decide the difference in financial aid is significant enough to convince me to go there instead of ND, which is a big if), or if I simply cannot afford ND.

I’m really excited to go this April! Definitely looking forward to the sweatpants haha
I wish I knew other people who are going though…I don’t know anyone from the St. Louis area who’s going.

So, if you’re invited to Reilly, are you definitely into the honors program? I got my letter for Reilly like a month ago, and I was accepted yesterday, but haven’t heard anything about the honors program yet?

Originally, my son had Northwestern, University of Chicago and Univ. Of Illinois as his top three. Notre Dame was thrown in as one of his 10 schools to apply at. After receiving his Reilly invite… And making a second visit yesterday he now has ND as one of his final two picks. Northwestern is still number 1, but all the attention ND has shown him has definitely got him re-thinking his options. But more importantly, his mom fell in love with the Basilica and Grotto… And his mom has a lot of weight in his decision.
