So, I feel that I am just going to be rejected from all my dream schools the more I consider my SAT...(1420/2110) It sucks.

Is it strange that I don't know if I care anymore?

Similar sentiments?

(Amherst, Williams, Darthmouth, Cornell, Bowdoin, Middlebury)
I applied to all those (as well 12 others..) I hope one at least will accept me. :(

i feel if you have above a 2100..it all comes down to the rest of your application (essays, ECs, teacher rec., etc.). 100 or 200 extra points isn't going to get you in...i really think you just need to shine with everything else, dw about it.

and there's nothing you can do now anyway, so just try to be optimistic so you do'nt drive yourself crazy.

daiea08--No, it's not strange. I watched my daughter become numb to the long, agonizing application process last year. This too, shall pass. ... You've applied to 18 schools. The ones you listed are wonderful and very selective. I assume you've also included some safeties. My younger daughter seemed to have a good shot at Brown--2290 SAT, 35 ACT, National Merit Finalist/Scholar, terrific ECs and recs, etc., etc. Plus, from the underrepresented state of Kentucky. Still, she was rejected. So, one never knows. She ended up at Carleton, where she is an ecstatically happy freshman as we "speak." Best of luck to you!

I can promise you that your SAT score will not be your downfall at any of those schools. GUARENTEED. It's high enough, as long as you are well-rounded in other areas of your application you have a good shot at getting into any of those schools.

I agree with smiles1011. But as I told my daughter (who ignored me), it's probably best not to get your heart set on any one school. Some will accept you, others will not. It's nothing personal, just demographics, the mood of the admissions officer when he/she read your submission, etc. Hopefully, you'll end up loving a school that loves you back!
