Rejected at Yale EA, Do I Still Have a Chance at Brown, Amherst, etc.?

Those of you interested in chancing me I would really appreciate it if you did!

Academics
I went to a mid-sized suburban high school for my Freshman and Sophomore years, but during my Junior and Senior years, I have taken all of my academic classes at the University of Minnesota through a dual enrollment program. I took all honors classes at my high school.

My high school's GPA is only reported in weighted format and it's out of 12. I think my high school GPA looks something like this:

HS GPA: 3.9 UW
UMN GPA: 3.930 UW

I've been on the UMN Dean's List all three semesters thus far, and my GPAs in Spring 08 and Fall 08 have both been 4.0.

Class Rank: ~10/350

ACT: 33 (35 Eng, 33 Math, 29 Reading, 33 Sci)

Teacher Recs: One from UMN TA/Grad Student, Other from tenured French Instructor. Both are great.
Counselor Rec: Very good.

Extracurriculars
They're in a lot of areas but they're pretty devoted nonetheless.

Thanks again!

Forgot to mention where I’m applying. Sorry!

Amherst
Brown
Tufts
Brandeis
Bates
William and Mary
Carleton

As anyone here will tell you-- Ivies are a crapshoot. Your ACT is a bit low though. Going to a conversion table, I see a 33=2190 on the SAT, which isn’t hot enough for Yale. I feel for you-- I’ve also just applied to Yale, and feel my 34 is inadequate.

I dunno about Brown, but Brandeis I can see accepting you.

Yale’s middle 50% is 30-34 for ACT. I think CC posters inflate the value of standardized testing anyway, but I guess we’ll see.

When you factor in that more than 40% of Yale and other top school’s classes have hooks (recruited athlete, URM, legacy, development), it leaves most of the unhooked to have scores above the 75th percentile.
