Rejected by all, except Georgia Tech

???

There are so many things wrong with the above (including the typo) that I don’t know where to start.

1) Who are these “people”? And, where did THEY go to college?

2) GT is prestigious.

3) People who graduate from GT are considered to be intellectuals just as much as those who graduate from ivies. Every ivy grad isn’t an intellectual…do you realize that?

4) If you wanted to get into even better schools, why is your GPA not higher?

To ClassicRockerDad and the others bringing up my mention of my high IQ, No arrogance at all and I am not stubborn at all. And I mean, just to get this straight, I am actually typing for my older brother but it seems as though he doesn’t even CARE about this college experience. He’s just been like “whatever schools I get, I get” and he’s completely fine with Georgia Tech. He literally is the most modest person I know and he is always pointing out what other people are better than him at whenever I try to acknowledge his prestige in many intellectual fields. I’m a Freshman in High school but I know a ton about colleges and probably more than my brother. He is extremely smart toward the engineering field and I found it amazing on every SAT and on the ACT and Subject Tests, his Math score was an 800 or 36 and his science were 800’s as well. I also found it amazing that he kept a 99 in AP Chem and a 100 in AP Physics and our high school is ranked top 50 in the state. So just comment accordingly because I just thought u guys would think differently if I actually told you it was my brother in which I was impersonating.

Oh lordy…it’s your bro who’s been accepted to GT and he’s fine with it? Don’t you have better things to do?

So, now we know…YOU don’t think GT is prestigious. YOU are “these people”.

Well, your OLDER bro knows more about these things than you do…go with that.

momma just put you in check

In other words, he knows what he is talking about more than you do. Georgia Tech for free is an excellent choice for an engineering major.

And when you get to college application time, you should have an application list of schools that you are happy to go to, including your safety schools, so that whatever schools you get (even if only the safety schools), you will be completely fine with them.

Did you perhaps also write his applications? This might explain the results, ;)

This fallactious thread needs to be closed and erased.

“Oh what a tangled web we spin…”

It’s better when someone comes clean, as here. Perhaps now a more honest discussion can ensue.

There are plenty of lessons in this thread, but it will be closed. The wise move for this poster is to try again to seek advice, but start with a more honest opening post. Grown-ups bite when they’re lied to…haven’t you figured that out yet?
