NU was near the top of my wish list and it’s very disheartening to not get in. Any thoughts?

Those are insane stats - I’m so sorry! College admissions are such a crapshoot, especially with how low admissions rates are getting. Best of luck for all your other application decisions.
That’s the reason why top universities such as Northwestern are considered ‘reach for everyone’. They receive thousands and thousands of applications from super qualified kid and can’t take them all. So then it comes down to their own priorities - whether they need an oboe player they year and you happen to play the sax. And the following year, the reverse happens.

I was rejected washu and johns hopkins, accepted to northwestern, you can be rejected to northwestern and get into somewhere even better… definitely don’t lose hope!
