Rejected by Stanford EA, Chances at Other Colleges?

I am a Singaporean who hopes to study in the states. I need some advice on my chances of getting into the various colleges. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

I've applied to (and applying to)
- Stanford EA (rejected)
- Harvard
- Princeton
- Yale
- Penn (Jerome Fisher Program)

My Profile:
SAT I: 1600
SAT II: 2370 (Writing 770, Maths IIc 800, Physics 800)

GCE Ordinary Level, Distinction (A1) in all 10 subjects
GCE Advance Level, Distinction (A) in all 4 subjects + 1 Special Paper Distinction and 1 Special Paper Merit

These results put me somewhere in the top 0.1% of my country and perhaps around top 2% of my school (best in the country). No GPA or official ranking in my school system.

I am rather active in CCAs. Chairman of Computer Club, Entrepreneurship Society. Plays badminton and swimming. Various awards in Programming/IT and economics/current affairs competitions.

Did two research projects with the local university. One turn out to be quite good, got a gold medal at the Singapore Science and Engineering Fair (local version of the ISEF) and top 3 places in the National Science and Talent Search (local version of the Intel Science Talent Search). The research is about routing algorithms (computing).

Finally, I got a full four year scholarship from an investment company to ehh.. anywhere in the world, I hope to go to the states though.

My intended majors are computer science / engineering (my interest) and economics / finance (what I will be doing later in life).

Previously I thought I had pretty good chances but after Stanford rejected me, I am now a little dishearted. (I used my old SAT I score, 1490, for my Stanford application though)

What are my chances at the other four schools?

Thanks!!

wow, i'm suprised that you didn't get into stanford. no worries though, you're very competetive for the rest of your schools. i think your best chance is upenn, however, all the schools are toss-ups for everyone, just because of the type of peeople who apply.

g'luck!

Wow.. that's fast. Do I have a 75% chance of getting in to ANY of the schools? :)

No to the 75% question. I would have one slightly safer school/program on your list. The biggest thing I'd say is that I would suspect there was a glaring issue in your Stanford app for them to have rejected rather than deferred you. It may just have to do with number of highly qualified Asian Internationals, but I would take a hard look at essays, who wrote recs, etc. Great stats, you don't need money, something seems amiss. Have your counselor, or you, call Stanford and ask. Good luck!

Oh.. I will have to go Cambridge if all I get is a stack of thin letters. I know I am asking too much, afterall they are all very selective schools :)

In the rejection letter Stanford sent me, it says that Stanford rarely defers its EA applicants... and I wonders why...

Darn... Cambridge.

WHY DID YOU USE 1490 INSTEAD OF A 1600?! why why why why? wait wait...did you mention any of the other things that you wrote into standford? ahahah i never knew a 1600 was less than 1490.

Oh... Because I only got my 1600 in the Dec test and it cannot be used for EA. :(
