Rejected ED, need more schools please... ASAP

Hi I was rejected from Cornell ED (applied to AEM).

Now, I have a list of schools and have applied to a few already but none of them really stick out to me like Cornell did. Can anybody suggest a school that you think would fit me well and that I can fall in love with.

SAT: 770 M, 630 CR, 730 W (1400 and 2130)
Rank: top 17%..... I have straight A's though
6 AP's this year
No real hooks
I think my EC's are above average but who knows

Okay I am looking to major in like finance, mathematics, statistics, economics, marketing.. something like that

I don't want a small LAC (at least 5,000 students)
Lots of opportunities
Beautiful campus- city, suburban, or rural I don't mind
Motivated and diverse students
Not huge on partying, frats, jocks but most schools have this.. so whatever

and I can't think of much more right now. I just need to find another school to replace Cornell. =[

Thanks in Advance. I need help ASAP!!!

your remaining list please? have some ideas but would like to see it b4 posting…

NYU Stern, Boston College, Penn CAS(know it’s gonna be a rejection but what the hay), GWU, Boston University, three safetyish schools

Not beautiful campuses, but NYU and CMU are strong for mathematics and economics.

EDIT: we cross-posted so I did not see that you are already applying to NYU (Stern).

Michigan-Ross, UVa, NYU-Stern, WUStL, Georgetown, Emory, CMU.

Your stats aren’t good enough for Berkeley (OOS), Sloan and Wharton.

yeah I wasn’t planning on applying to Berkeley, Sloan, or Wharton (would never go)

thanks for the suggestions

Villanova won’t be a safety, but it’s a possibility for you.

Doesn’t Arizona or Arizona St have a strong business school? I know it’s away from your norm, but it would be a safety and possibly a source for some merit money.

Ohio? or Ohio St?

Is money no object?

Not many schools besides the ivies can meet need w/o big loans, so you may want to consider some schools that will give you merit $$ if money is an issue. If money isn’t an issue, then great! :)

edited to add…

My daughter is a senior at BC, transferred from Conn Coll…Loves the campus, the classes, the kids, the athletics and especially her proximity to Boston! She finds the classes very challenging, is a psychology major…**Plus, many of her friends who are seniors already have jobs through career counseling!!! Happy to answer any other questions!!

SAT: 770 M, 630 CR, 730 W (1400 and 2130)
Rank: top 17%… I have straight A’s though

While BC is within range (except CR is a bit low), BC rejects many incoming freshmen candidates that fit…
OP’s rank will also hurt.

ggreeeeeeeat

but honestly, looking at ED results from Penn, Columbia, Cornell, and Duke I realized that stats DO NOT MATTER. i know people say they do but then why is it that people with 2300+ get rejected when people who get in the 2100’s get in more frequently. it just doesn’t make sense.

^^^

Stats “matter” but other things do, too…

URM status
region/state residency
hooks
rank

Again…is money no object? If you’ll be needing FA (and will qualify for FA), then we need to suggest appropriate schools for that. Do you know for certain that your family can meet its EFC?

Apply to Indiana University. Beautiful campus. They actually act as though they want you. If you are interested in Finance, their Kelly school of Business is one of best in US. Midwestern people are really nice!

From another thread it seems the OP is not eligible for any FA but is hoping to not have to pay $50K/year.

^^^

then IU might be a good choice since the OP should get some merit money.

Lehigh, Fordham, Villanova, Southern Methodist, Clemson, Miami (Ohio).

What are the money considerations?

Looking at results here and drawing conclusions doesn’t work. There are too many factors–everything from what state you live in, to family income, school attended and all of the usual hooks. Stats matter, the bar is just different for different students.

I thought CMU’s campus was beautiful.
