So far I've been rejected from: JHU, Middlebury, Bowdoin, Vassar, Georgetown, Northwestern.
Waitlisted at WUSTL, BC . Early write from Carleton College.

Do I have any kind of shot whatsoever at Penn's CAS? Realistically?

PS. I know i'll find out in a matter of hours. I just want some kind of feeble hope.

The application fees make me want to cry.
Hope, hope, hope.
April Fools’ Day!
It sort of fits.
I know I’m incoherent-- when I heard about getting rejected from Georgetown, my first thought was not

“Oh man, Georgetown, I really wanted to go there,” it was
"Oh no… how am I ever going to get into Penn now "

^Haha On a completely unrelated note, that reminds me, has anyone seen the movie Orange County? The kid’s guidance counselor told him he was definitely going to get into Stanford and didn’t need to apply to any safety schools. Then later on she sends the wrong transcript and he gets rejected and she asks him why he didn’t apply to any safety schools?

phardaway, this year, colleges have been extremely harsh. I’ve gotten waitlisted and rejected from schools I thought could’ve been considered a match or even a safety. But what I also realized was how large of a part luck plays into everything. There seems to be so little correlation between certain students’ decisions from schools. They could get rejected from one school yet accepted by another school of similar prestige. It could be because of a lack in some part of the application, but usually, it can’t really be explained why a student wasn’t accepted. So there’s still hope. There’s still the chance, though small, but still there. Just because one school didn’t think you were their match, another school might take you in. However, be prepared for the worst at the same time. Also awaiting decisions tomorrow and am terrified.

I also have to ask… did you apply to anything safe? I would be way to nervous only applying to the list you gave. Though I got into my first choice (Northwestern), I applied mostly to my local state school (Ohio State) and some local area colleges.
