<p>One step to take, if you are waitlisted or rejected everywhere: Have your guidance counselor call the schools where you are waitlisted and put in a plug for you. There have been cases where schools have taken pity on a top student whom they assumed was using them as a safety or wasn’t really interested and therefore waitlisted them to check how serious they really are. If your GC lets them know that you have no other offers of admission and would love to attend if admitted (and you can afford it), you might see some results.</p>
