rejected for presidential scholarship

How did you fail to get national merit? I had lower stats and that was my ticket to 1/2 tuition.

Mind you, I am from Indiana, some of you might just be from bigger states (it seems like everyone from CC is from the west coast, sometimes).

paniwani: be grateful! my scores are VERY similar to yours (exact same SAT, actually, and i've received a few regents to UCs as well), and i wasn't even selected for an interview! (i did, however, end up with dean's..) did you still receive anything?

Aeggie: WORD. i scored 214 on the PSAT, which, i believe, is 1 or 2 points below the semifinalist cut-off for California (took it the day after surgery). whats the cut-off for indiana? congrats, by the way!!!

You know, I never really looked, but I think it's right around 200. I don't even know what I scored on the PSAT, I figured that I wouldn't make it (My 10th grade teacher told me I had no shot, I remember having a 93rd percentile then), so I never opened it.

I was pretty surprised when I was called into guidance to do the application.

If you got the same SAT score as Pani then you beat me by a little less than 200 points, I got a 2150 (760CR, 710W, 680M).

yeah i had something like 98 or 99 percentile (but i think thats on a national level?) oh well... congrats on the half scholarship! you planning to go to usc?

Well, I plan to go... if I get in. I can't tell you how awkward it is telling people that I have half-tuition to USC, but only if I'm admitted. Have you been admitted yet?

yeah i got in at the beginning of february. Dean's scholarship... so ... whatever, i can't complain. good luck to you, you sound like you have a great shot!

Congratulations! Are you sure you're for USC or are you considering anything else? Do you know what you're majoring in? Maybe I'll see you around next year.

yes, i'm sure! i sent in my enrollment stuff yesterday! : )
i was accepted as a polysci major, but i recently changed my mind and now plan on majoring in business and minoring in music industry... it should be tight.... so yeah, i'll see you around! haha

ckpcw, if you want to talk about engineering stuff, send me a PM or something :)

yeesssss interviewed for presidential got presidential. sweeeeeeet.

wow ....somehow with my low stats got presidential

i'm thinking i'll choose the more expensive for OOS UCLA... but, n e way, i guess as an extra incentive to go to USC... I interviewed presidential and got presidential.

Interviewed presidential, got presidential.

Makes the tuition still expensive, but affordable at least.

interviewed presidential and got presidential. I was hoping for full, but oh well. I wasn't planning on going to USC necessarily, but other things fell through and I'm glad I've got the money there. I'll most likely be going, although hoping Duke will admit me off the waitlist!
