Rejected:Freshman::Transfer:Junior?

Okay, I tried to grab attention by using the ":" signs, even though I am not sure if the analogy fits :/

I was rejected during the freshman round (when I applied RD in HS) but I am now considering to apply as a transfer (for the junior year in univ). I have improved my GPA significantly (from 3.5 in HS to 4.0 in Univ.) - grades were what mainly pulled me down in RD admissions. As well, I am currently very involved with the university/community activities.

I've heard somewhere that Yale does not admit transfer applicants it has rejected before? Is that true for all transfers, even juniors?

I know my chances are slim but I just want to know if there's hope at all for a rejected freshman.

I know people who were rejected as HS seniors and who later transferred, so, no, there's no policy that you can't apply and be accepted.

You can get in. Just keep in mind it has a very low admissions rate for transfers.
