Rejected from a selective major, can I pick a different one?

Hi!
Does anyone know Seattle University’s policy on picking a different major after being rejected from a selective one? I was denied admission for the Nursing program (which is okay because I didn’t want to do nursing in the first place), but I have the stats to get into a less selective major. I was wondering if it would be possible to send the admissions office an email stating that I’d like to reapply as a RD applicant with a different major (if possible). I also have no intention of switching into nursing.

Call the school and ask.

Most schools will let you, as long as you got into the university itself. Definitely contact them about it.

This student was denied admission. After being rejected, I do not believe you can reapply to a less selective major, if so wouldn’t every kid rejected do that after they are denied in early action? Ya, doesn’t seem like that will fly.

Agree, it is highly unlikely that the OP can re-apply. Still since (as far as I know) none of us works for Seattle U admissions, it seems worth a call to find out with 100% certainty.

would you be comfortable sharing your stats? (just GPA and SAT)
