Well Unfortunately I got rejected from all the UC's I applied to.
(Davis Irvine, SD, Los Angeles, and I know Berkley is done for sure.
I had a 3.96 UC GPA and 1750 SAT (kind of low I know) and a ton of work experience!
History day etc.
Were my grades too low for all of these UC's?

My friend got into UCI with a 3.3 also but he applied as a math major I applied as a Biological Sciences major for all the schools

Engineering majors are more competitive.

I had a 3.96 UC GPA and a 2200 and I got rejected from all of these as well. I applied for Biological Sciences too. It’s just weird… I don’t even know.

@GamerAddict - Thought you got accepted to UCSB…?
@CollegeUser - Your UC GPA is borderline, the SAT scores may have hurt. What was the rigor of your classes? Not knowing your transcript , it is hard to say.
Also the bar is set high if your school is high performing (applicants reviewed “in context” of your school).

Did you at least get offered a spot at UCR or UCM? You are UC eligible.

@Pecanshell. Im in the top 10% not 9% so I heard I’m not UC eligible.

fall2016parent Including my senior year…6 AP’s and 2 Honors. All the classes I took were weighted including the honors.

According to this: [University of California - Statewide path](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/freshman/california-residents/admissions-index/index.html) you are top 9!

did you apply to any other colleges? privates? CSU?'s

UC’s had a record number of applicants this year.
A lot of my friends applied to UC’s and there have been a lot of people with great GPA’s SAT’s and extracurriculars that got rejected and wait listed, and there were also a lot of people with lower than average GPA’s SAT scores and not as good extracurricular that got in. I have friends who should’ve gotten into Davis as a safety but got wait listed because they applied for a super impacted major.

A lot of it is because of the majors you applied for. Some majors are more competitive than others and some majors are also super impacted.

I mean when I look at your grades, it seems as though you should have at least gotten into Davis or Irvine- or at least wait listed. But so many people applied this year so it had a major impact on admission decisions.

Best of luck!

I appealed Irvine and Davis. So far I got denied for Davis and I’m giving up on Irvine. My high school was a complete waste. I took a total of 6 AP’s which I know isn’t much but I also took two honors and the APs weren’t the easy ones (Chem Calc BC etc). I don’t know honestly I’m shocked. My friend got into UCI with a 3.0 GPA and he had no volunteer and less work than me and nothing special his sat was even lower than mine but he was Hispanic. Honestly it sucks to be in my shoes right now :(

How were your essays? Did you meet a-g requirements?

Did you apply to Merced or Riverside? I think those are the only UCs guaranteeing ELC students a spot this year. You might be able to get in if you start contacting the admissions office asap.

Good Luck!

*Rejected from all UC’s? What happened?

I think your SAT is what hurt you. Find out if you can get into UCR or UCM.

If I were you, I’d really try for UCM…nice new school and private college atmosphere.

Both UC GPA and SATs were below average at all. Why the shock?

What major were you applying for?

You can go to community college and then transfer as a junior after taking the courses listed on [Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org) to prepare for your major at the various UCs and CSUs.

Is it too late for this student to somehow get admitted to UCM?

[How to Apply | Admissions](http://admissions.ucmerced.edu/applying-uc-merced) says that UC Merced is accepting applications in May for the Spring 2013 semester.

as an update I got into UCI through appeal.
