Rejected from Cal...F CAL, HELLO UCLA!!!

Rejected. Rejected, rejected, REJECTED.

I am so ****ed off right now, I can't even describe it... And I feel I have to vent somewhere so here I am... But you know, now that I compare Cal and UCLA...I think that UCLA is going somewhere a lot faster than Cal is. And it's like...Los Angeles. I've never even BEEN to L.A....isn't that sad? I'm in the bay area and I've never been to socal. And now I'm going to spend the next 4 years of my life there. Freakin nuts... I don't believe this. But in the back of my mind I've been thinking of UCLA...good research programs, top notch medical school...what's there not to love...it's just...I don't know...Cal is just the ultimate here in the bay area...it's the norm, the familiar, the prestige, the everything, the dream.

But I'm excited. To go to UCLA. I think there will be a lot more to do there. More experiences. Room to grow. Yeah.... Yep, yep, yep.

You'll have a great time at UCLA. There's something to be said about getting out of you comfort zone when you go to school, so maybe being forced to leave norcal will only help you in the end.

dooode, us = bay area?!? hehehthehehehhahha . . . did you forget about the cows and sheeps?

you sound exactly like me!! im rejected from berkeley and im in the bay area who has never gone to socal

I've been to SoCal a few times but don't really know much about it, and UCLA was actually my 5th choice when I first applied, but I'm very excited about going to UCLA now! It's true that Cal may be more prestigious, but hey, so what? :)

I was comparing UCLA and Michigan earlier today. I was already leaning UCLA, but I wanted to make sure I really wanted to go first. I was talking to a friend about it and I just found myself really excited about UCLA. So the choice became obvious...UCLA! Need I say more?

hey, i feel exactly the same! rarely ever go to socal, but i guess i'm goin to UCLA now since i got rejected from UCB

I got the boot form Cal too. Hey, but whos got the better housing/food/tans/living price? That's right ;).

And for the comment above mine:

What's the same about Berkeley and Stanford applicants? Think about it.

so what's the one thing that students from UCLA and students from Berkeley have in common?

...they both applied to Berkeley.

;)

what's with all the berkeley rejects this year? haha. great... just bring more people to la. haha.

Another Berkeley reject here.

just wanted to point out that saxshackdan's comment can be taken another way..
everyone applies to berkeley because it can be used as a fall back school for la applicants.. because i know this is true for at least usc

Wow, you guys make it seem like getting into UCLA is a bad thing...I got into both Berkeley and LA last year, and I made the conscious decision to attend UCLA. Hey, at least you get to go to a college with nationally ranked sports team (Final Four, yeahhhhh!!).

Berkeley is so overrated. I'm choosing UCLA over it without a second thought.

lol... coming from SoCal, I have to say that NorCal and Socal are almost completely different states, so much different....

^Agreed

Coming from norcal and now living in socal, I feel like I'm in a different country.

Got rejected from Cal as well. I was going to choose UCLA over Cal anyway, but this makes my choice easier to make. I visited both, but since I'm from Southern California I felt a lot more comfortable at UCLA.

rejected as well- but unlike you guys, i'm extremely ****ed.
i feel as though SOME cal decisiosn were completely arbitrary- i think i am qualified enough to get in, and someone from my school w/ far less extracurriculars, far less rigorous courses, and just horrible sat scores got in.

but i guess i'm also just being bitter.

either way, screw cal. they can kiss my a**

but i'm feeling a little hesistant about enrolling at ucla- can someone tell me what they think ucla's strongest points are?

Cal Reject

Ucla Hello

Yup, I got berkeley pwn3d, and I'm soon to get stanford pwn3d.

Don't get me wrong. I'm pretty happy with UCLA but berkeley is... berkeley!

I got into both but I chose UCLA the day after I got in. UCLA is the better school in my eyes and is evident by the number of applicants that they got this year.

Chose LA over Berkeley any day.
