I am so ****ed off right now, I can't even describe it... And I feel I have to vent somewhere so here I am... But you know, now that I compare Cal and UCLA...I think that UCLA is going somewhere a lot faster than Cal is. And it's like...Los Angeles. I've never even BEEN to L.A....isn't that sad? I'm in the bay area and I've never been to socal. And now I'm going to spend the next 4 years of my life there. Freakin nuts... I don't believe this. But in the back of my mind I've been thinking of UCLA...good research programs, top notch medical school...what's there not to love...it's just...I don't know...Cal is just the ultimate here in the bay area...it's the norm, the familiar, the prestige, the everything, the dream.

But I'm excited. To go to UCLA. I think there will be a lot more to do there. More experiences. Room to grow. Yeah.... Yep, yep, yep.

You'll have a great time at UCLA. There's something to be said about getting out of you comfort zone when you go to school, so maybe being forced to leave norcal will only help you in the end.

I've been to SoCal a few times but don't really know much about it, and UCLA was actually my 5th choice when I first applied, but I'm very excited about going to UCLA now! It's true that Cal may be more prestigious, but hey, so what? :)

I was comparing UCLA and Michigan earlier today. I was already leaning UCLA, but I wanted to make sure I really wanted to go first. I was talking to a friend about it and I just found myself really excited about UCLA. So the choice became obvious...UCLA! Need I say more?

just wanted to point out that saxshackdan's comment can be taken another way..
everyone applies to berkeley because it can be used as a fall back school for la applicants.. because i know this is true for at least usc

Wow, you guys make it seem like getting into UCLA is a bad thing...I got into both Berkeley and LA last year, and I made the conscious decision to attend UCLA. Hey, at least you get to go to a college with nationally ranked sports team (Final Four, yeahhhhh!!).

Got rejected from Cal as well. I was going to choose UCLA over Cal anyway, but this makes my choice easier to make. I visited both, but since I'm from Southern California I felt a lot more comfortable at UCLA.

rejected as well- but unlike you guys, i'm extremely ****ed.
i feel as though SOME cal decisiosn were completely arbitrary- i think i am qualified enough to get in, and someone from my school w/ far less extracurriculars, far less rigorous courses, and just horrible sat scores got in.

but i guess i'm also just being bitter.

either way, screw cal. they can kiss my a**

but i'm feeling a little hesistant about enrolling at ucla- can someone tell me what they think ucla's strongest points are?

I got into both but I chose UCLA the day after I got in. UCLA is the better school in my eyes and is evident by the number of applicants that they got this year.
