Bumpumpbump

What is it about Duke’s engineering program that appeals to you, do you find it to be the most similar program to Cornell’s engineering program, and in what ways? Just wondering.

well ok so I know Cornell’s program is top notch, and Duke’s is a little different… I don’t think its the most similar ENGINEERING program to cornell’s but I think at least in my list they are the most similar schools. MIT, Stanford are dream schools which I don’t think is all that possible any more, and in the middle I had Berkeley, Duke, and Cornell. In Duke I’d probably pursue Bio Engineering, whereas in Cornell I would’ve gone the Electrical engineering route. But do you think I have a chance?

You should have a good chance. I’m pretty surprised you got rejected from Cornell. You seem to have a very solid application. SATI and SATII are great, course rigor and school seem fine, and extracurriculars are solid.

It’s possible your essays are really unoriginal for engineering, which would hurt you a lot.

Please chance me here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1024234-chance-me-if-you-dont-like-when-people-title-threads-all-capitals.html

It’ll be a squeeze with any school you apply to. You’re qualified, but so are a lot of other students applying to Pratt. Duke’s BioMed Engineering program is ranked second in the nation! Admission will definitely be a squeeze even with a student like you.

i’m pretty sure my engineering essay was pretty original…if anything it was too risky
I guess that could have gotten me rejected?

I’m just scared cause I was planning on modifying my engineering essay for Duke as well
