An inner voice tells me that I shouldn’t bump this thread again for people to see my pitiful application, but I have an unfortunate penchant for knowing what others think about me.

Ok, first off, how many AP’s haven’t you taken that are available to you? That is a huge factor. Secondly, I should hope that (since by now it’s probably too late) you did mention your issues with depression and overcoming it, and I should hope you made it abundantly clear that it is over/will not happen again. I do not know if Cornell has an appeals process, but I would suggest you look into it; if you applied there ED, obviously you have some deeper connection to the school, so maybe you could send them a quick note asking if such a procedure exists (most schools have one for rejected ED). Thirdly, your Class Rank’s going to be your worst factor in the equation of everything. Clearly, you test very well, but, unfortunately, you are going to face stiff competition from fellow members of your race who do so as well. Also, you are coming from CA, which is one of the most competitive areas. Bear in mind that applicants are looked at regionally/racially, so that you really ought to bear this in mind as well. With all that said:

Princeton University - Rather hefty Reach
UC Berkeley - Low Reach (Low GPA / Rank)
UC Los Angeles (UCLA) - Match
UC San Diego - Match
UC Santa Cruz - Match
University of Chicago - Very Low Reach (Heavy emphasis on scores, writing and character)
Tufts University - Match (Great SAT’s should outweigh lacklustre grades)
Colgate University - Match
Boston University - Safety

I took out the ones I had no idea about, but remember, none of us have really any clue about how it’ll pan out. We can really only give rough estimates based upon past data, etc. So don’t get your hopes up/down based on what anybody says. Bonne chance!
