Rejected from Emory, Chances at Oxford College?

Hey there,
I was recently rejected from Emory (Expected). Like all other rejected applicants I was given the option to apply to Oxford College and sent my application to be considered at the school. Could you please chance me?

Weighted GPA-3.66
Very tough curriculum and a little combination of not trying :P, Catholic Private School in Massachusetts
AP's-Government, US History, Statistics, European History, Calculus AB
Many Honors courses

Ethnicity: Korean (US Citizen)

Extracurriculars: Nurses aid at a large hospital, Doctor's Aide in medical trip to Haiti, Tons of clubs, etc

Applied as a pre-med major and had (what I and many others considered) an amazing essay on my realizations after Haiti. Recommendations from one teacher currently at Dartmouth University and another at Boston College.

SAT's: 2000 composite, 660 Math, 670 Critical Reading, 670 Writing
SAT II's: US History-670, Math II - 660
Again a little of not trying and only attempting the tests once. Am I coming off as a little cocky? Sorry.

Please chance me? I've already been accepted to Northeastern with a merit scholarship but my parents are really looking to make me go to a school with a little more prestige. *sigh.

Please let me know!

Also, does anyone know how long I have to wait for the decision on Oxford College? I opted for Oxford College consideration April 1st.

you have a good chance. :)

I read that Oxford decisions will be made by April 20. It was somewhere on OPUS with the waitlist info. Good luck!

Depends on how it’s weighted. Oxford recalculates GPA on an unweighted, 10-point scale (A = 90-100; B = 80-89; C = 70-79; D = 60-69; F = <60): [Oxford College - GPA Calculator](Admission | Emory University | Atlanta GA)

The average recalculated GPA was about a 3.5 last year. Your SAT is around the 75th percentile of last year’s class–no one’s sure how much that will change for this year; someone claimed that the number of applicants to Oxford doubled this year. I would be surprised if you aren’t admitted, but few things are assured this year.
