I just got rejected from Caltech YESS. I got rejected a few days ago from a local two-week science program in an infectious disease lab. and I got rejected from an internship at Microsoft but i kinda saw that coming cuz i have no experience with computers whatsoever.

so 0 out of 3.....

somehow i think it's my essay responses that suck b/c my grades and test scores and teacher recs are generally pretty great and i've got extracurriculars that fit the programs i try to apply for (science and math).

so uhhh what other (free) programs are still open? and for the ones that require like $3000 at least, are they helpful or a waste of money?

and if there aren't any others, what other options do I have?

How about the Equinox programs at CWRU or Northwestern? (Center for Talent Development)

Not cheap, but $2800 residential fees include tuition, room and board for three weeks, books, and materials, health center fee, and deposit.

AP Statistics sounds good if you haven't taken it. Or, not many high schools offer linear algebra.

June 29 - July 18 I think?

Equinox, Courses, Summer Program, Center for Talent Development, Northwestern University

what about Harvard SSP and Brown unversity and Stanford summer program? i think they might be still open.

yeah, i got rejected by yess, too.

i second wildchartermage's suggestion. people always need more hands (especially free/cheap hands) around the lab. good experiences, too.
