Allright, so I officially got my decision for macaulay honors and i got rejected from it. not even deferred, but flat out rejected. I was like ***? I learned about this program last year and worked hard to get in, I guess I wasn't good enough for them. Anyone that got in or rejected or even deferred, feel free to share you're stats.

What was extremely weird was that even though I got rejected, I got accepted into Baruch College, no honors, but with a full scholarship...

I also got into Stony Brook, Fordham, and I want to major in finance and mathematics or even applied mathematics or something very strong in mathematics.
Financially, I can afford stony brook, and baruch is only 4k so the full scholarship isn't going to make a large difference. I believe education is an investment, and I am willing to do that for stony brook, maybe even fordham. What do you guys think I should do?

I apologize for the long post. thanks a lot !

I'm sorry man :\ If you didn't get in- it just wasn't meant to be. I'm sure you will do greatly in either Stony or Fordham or even Baruch, all fine schools. Have you visited the campuses? I would just suggest the one that you like most..Good luck with all you do.

Thank you for the comforting words. I try to tell myself that everyday, but there is a significant difference in actually knowing something is right, and actually believing that it is. We live in a world where everything is numerically organized and divided, and college is one of the many ways that we are set apart as individuals. After all, realistically speaking, everyone is always in competition, whether for better grades or a better job. It never ends. Even though its a vicious cycle which dehumanizes some to the point where they no longer care about those around them, but instead only care about the amount of money they offer.

I only have until January 15th to give baruch a decision. I dont know why they gave me such a short time span. So, I have to make a decision. Any opinions? sorry for the long post AGAIN lols.

Did they accept you to "Baruch Scholars" or just give you free tuition?

no. just gave me a full scholarship.

hey not trying to rub it in or nothin but i got into macaulay at baruch. if your curious these are my stats. you'll probably be mad because my sat is 100 points below the average macaulay stuedent.

gpa-94
sat-710m 540cr 550w
sat 2-math1(680) math2(640)
rank-22/385
sports-varsity football, wrestling and lacrosse
clubs-student government, fbla, honor society, high honor roll

i really didnt think I was going to get in because of my sat but maybe my math saved me since it is a business school and they would weigh the math more.

in my opinio i think if you are going for business I would suggest you still go to Baruch, from what I've read it is better than fordham and stony brook for business. also you can still get into their honors program as early as after your first semester, however you cant transfer into the macaulay honors.

good luck

Hey, I applied to Baruch Honors for regular decision, but i think it's strange that you got rejected because someone from my school with an 1100 something got deferred from Hunter, which i think has a higher SAT standard than Baruch..

hm, i guess we'll never understand.

"hm, i guess we'll never understand."
-Yes. Macaulay are as unpredictable as any. The Valedictorian in my class was deferred from hunter as well, while another girl and I were accepted..

I agree with NBbulldog that if you are going to major in business you would be better served going to Baruch than you would going to Stonybrook (or even Fordham).
