I have posted some academic stats from my application, I applied as a Biology major. I know there are many different factors in admission, but I believe I had a good chance. I applied to all of the UCs except for Merced, and as of today the only one I heard back from was Davis and I was rejected.
I am pretty active in volunteering in the community and at my school, VP of a club, have done some internship stuff, etc. I was a little shocked by the rejection I got, so I was wondering what my chances at other UCs might be given the info I provided. Thank you!
(Cont.) Given my rejection from UC Davis, I am no longer confident that I have a real chance at Berkeley, UCLA, or UCSD. My next top UC for pre-med would be Irvine. Anybody know if I have a shot at UCI?
A 4.32 weighted GPA is weak for a STEM major, especially when unweighted is 3.82. I wouldn’t be too optimistic about UCI, but either way whatever college you go to doesn’t define you! You can still transfer and stuff; in the end it doesn’t matter.
@Kobe4Lyfe98: I think you stand a decent chance at UCI but as you are finding out that UC’s are unpredictable. Good luck.
@ucbalumnus oh I certainly didn’t consider them safety schools, but I think I had a descent chance of at least getting waitlisted. My backups are UCR and some cal states I applied to and have already received admission offers from. Information I forgot to include in the original post is my UC GPA which is 4.02, not amazing by any means but something I wouldn’t expect to be far off from admission range. I have not heard back from UCI, so that would be my top school at the moment.
