UC GPA is partially weighted. It allows 8 semesters of weighted grades during the sophomore and junior years.

What are the chances of getting rejected to both SD and LA and getting into Cal?

SD was my dream school. =(

@the legend: wow… are you also one of those high stats students that also got rejected? There seems to be alot of this year

Well, UCSD does not have holistic review.

WOWOWOWOW!! those are freakin high stats!!! I thought all UCs were number based. Don’t worry, I’m sure harvard will pick you up.

@italmom: the reason it seemed like berkeley was easier to get into last year was because all the UC’s had to decrease its admissions, due to the budget cuts, except berkeley and merced. this year, however, all the UC’s had to decrease their number of acceptances, even berkeley… =(

^ which is a little hope for us OOS kids, but not too great for in state ):

"UCSD does not have holistic review. "

Seriously? I didn’t know that…well didn’t make me feel a whole lot better, since I always knew that my numbers are okay-ish and have been hoping that my subjectives would get me into better schools. Really hoping for Cal now, although UCLA has just literally screwed my confidence…

OP, I had a similar GPA and a lower SAT, and I was in at UCLA and Cal. I know more UCLA rejects/Cal admits than UCLA admits/Cal rejects. Anything is possible.

I was also rejected from UCSD and UCLA. UCLA was expected but looking at UCSD stats from those posted, I feel discouraged and curious as to why me? :(

I don’t even think I will stand a chance at CAL since it’s a top 20. … I am not sure if I can even get into UCD anymore… Only have UCI so far. sucks

Your status is somewhat competitive. So, even though you’re rejected from UCLA, you still do have a chance at Cal. The admissions decisions are made separately and can often show a little bit of “inconsistency”.

I’ve even heard of people who were rejected by UCSD but accepted into both UCLA and UC Berkeley.

Berkeley has a very different focus from UCLA, so almost an entirely different set of students get admitted. It’s so common for students to either get into Cal or UCLA but not both that the rumor of the two campuses “comparing notes” persisted for years.

but there are lots of students who get through to both right?

I know of more people who get into UCLA outright, but were rejected from Cal or were accepted into Berkeley FPF, than those who got into both.

I got into both.

Obviously, there are more people who got into both because they have similar standards…simple as that.

33hours mind posting your stats or sending them in a PM please?
