<p>ok here's a new theory....now that UCLA/Cal has sent out acceptances I'll bet there are alot of people with USC acceptances already who might now switch and go to UC's ...USC was sending acceptances the first weeks of April last year perhaps because they started to get some more spaces from the yield once the UC's came out??...maybe the next wave will start up now because people are going to start officially turning down USC??...</p>

<p>Yeah, but there is way too much of an interval in time between when students can accept admission from UCLA and the time it takes for the USC committee to make another decision. It would definitely be good for waitlistees, however.</p>
<p>I'm totally guessing that there might be a pile of "maybes" where the committee has said they are qualified but they are waiting to see if there is going to be room....the LA Times had an article about UCLA's system and it sounded like they gave everyone a number...at least half were thought to be qualified...I'll bet admissions hates to reject qualified ones until the very end...</p>
<p>Yeah, until they have a good number of how many students have already accepted admission and other reasons. I think that's why so many acceptees get their packet last minute.</p>

<p>a black kid from my school got into UCLA, Cal and UC Davis with the following stats.</p>
<p>2.8 cummulative GPA
1650 SAT's
No sports
No clubs
No amazing amounts of community service
and he isn't a good writer either (for the essays)</p>

I found out last night that I got rejected from both UCLA and Berkeley. I was pretty bummed until a package from USC arose from the ashes of my defeat. It turned out I got a Spring 08 admittance. I had been feeling just like you do - I didn't think there was a prayer for me. I got an 1850 on my SAT and I have less than half of the AP classes that most people on here do. My point is don't lose hope. Good luck, I really hope you get in.</p>
