Well I guess I'll be the first to start a rejection thread. I was checking the UCLA site constantly today and just received the rejection. I applied to business econ with a 3.8. I'm feeling pretty down now.

Ill be joining you, but for Berkeley. Just wait 2 days.

Don't worry about it, you had a really competitive major but wherever you decide to attend good luck man I wish you the best.

Eric,

I am sorry bud. I know this comes as little solace especially since so many are celebrating right now, but I had a friend with a solid GPA like yours who was rejected, but she appealed and got in...so don't let this be the end bud. =/

I got denied too, but I pretty much expected it. 3.6 GPA into Computer Science.

I'm still hoping Berkeley will accept me by some freak chance :(

With that GPA, you'll have success at whichever school you go to and that school will be glad to have you. ;-)

My gosh....when did 3.6 begin to be a "bad" GPA. I had no idea just how stiff the competition was in some of these majors. Glad I'm in the Humanities, if that's the case....We're a little more lax maybe? lol

Yeah. I was told that for my major no one under a 3.8 would be seriously considered. Its just ridiculous.

My condolences guys. Good Luck and stuff

dear friend, i feel really sorry to hear that. and im in the same major as yours - buis econ, really feel depressed now!

I was rejected as well... Business Econ with a 3.6. I obviously saw it coming.
Keeping my fingers crossed for Berkeley, but I'm not too hopeful.

allie: what major are you? and a 3.6 GPA for comp sci is bad...omg...for transfer that's really good

Sorry guys. Berkeley is yet to come, i'm still hoping I get into Cal fingers crossed. I hear from some, tho, that many who are accepted to one are denied from the other. I hope that isn't the case, but even if that is half right then half of you will get into Berkeley! :)

Best of luck wherever you go. The school doesn't make you, you determine your destiny!

-A

Fei- Comm studies

ericx,

I truly am sorry to hear that. And I know our condolences can never replace the feeling that you are going through right now. But if it's any consolation, like mexbruin said, Business-Econ is a very and I mean VERY competative major and for you to perform so well in your college career earning yourself a 3.8 GPA is something to be very proud of. A 3.8 is a fantastic GPA. I'm sorry that you aren't able to feel a sense of "pay-off" in the end after all that hard work to merit you the decision that you obviously preferred. I do not want to try to give you high hopes, but possibly if you can, take into consideration of what exilio presented. Honestly, anything really could happen.

I hope the best for you and good luck.

Guys I'm sorry to hear you did not get in! I know how hard each one of us (include both those who did not make it and those who did) and I can only imagin how hard that has to be... I'm sure you'll all do great no matter where you go to school next year!

i didn't get in either, but after the davis rejection i was pretty much expecting this

i got rejected too
3.8 for cs and engine major

oh and the major was bioengineering 3.92 gpa, at the end of the rejection they said they were confident I applied to other universities, what's that supposed to mean? That I should have known LA wouldn't accept me...and what if I didn't apply anywhere else...I don't like their rejection letter, I really don't like any rejection letters cause theyre so ambiguous and pointless i think they should just say rejected...it's just as good as saying what they say anyway. I hope Berkeley is the last rejection I get or I'm seriously screwed, although I hope berk doesn't reject me but that doesn't seem probable.

Wow Ericx I am shocked that you got rejected with that GPA. Did you fulfill all the requirements, such as two calculus classes? It looks like i'll be joining you, I applied for Biz Econ with a 3.9 GPA, but im not at a CC which have priority. You got into many other good schools though, I am sure this will not set back your long term success.

What do u mean by a CC that has priority?
