Rejected from UCLA

masta and yidong: didn't you guys have the pre-req's completed?

Ohh I see the confusion, im saying priority over other 4 year universitys/cc outside california. Im currently at Cal Poly Pomona, which, unlike CCCs, has no priority.

I think he or she means that they are not currently attending a community college, which has priority for junior transfers.......

ive been on these boards the past few days... and its been real fun on here, but it doesnt look like ill get into bizecon at ucla... I think all of us will have a great time at the university we pick! good luck to all of you in everything u do! uhhh go GAUCHOS! i think :p
Where do u guys think u will end up now?

Congrats on all of you who got in!

rejected.

econ/bus major
3.8 gpa
took wrong math course, havent done managerial accting..

NOW im scared for berkeely...im really, really scared.

i dont think you need to take any acct classes for ECON or buis econ major in ucla.

^i think you do...u need to take both financial and managerial accting, i only took financial.

i kinda knew i would get rejected just because there are so many ppl who have done all the pre-reqs and is in the honors program...still, its hurting :(

at least i got all the pre-reqs done for berkeley...i'm sooooooooo nervous now i feel sick nauseous :(

what are 'all' these pre-reqs? i get confused.

i think they are only econ 1a/1b, math 5a/5b, which are put on assist.org.

am i wrong?

I am noticing a trend here, I am still pending, but something interesting:

a lot of us who got rejected from UCD got into UCSD, and UCD and UCLA have similar requirements (pre-req > GPA)

I have a feeling that a lot of UCLA rejects will be taken by UCB, such is a case between UCD and UCSD.

for berkeley, you are right
it's only the math and economics, no accting.
But,
For ucla's bus/econ:

econ302, econ304
math400, math401
acct 301, acct 311

^^^probably

but for me, i havent taken any statistic classes for UCD and still got admitted.

I am sorry for you guys who got rejected. I absolutely cannot beleive that they rejected people with 3.8, 3.6 etc. I hope you guys nail Berkeley, SD, SB and others....

this is really ugly!
i even remember that a counselor of my college called UCLA for asking if we need to take acct 301/311, and they said NO!

^i dunno, im just listing out what they have at www.assist.org

add me to list of ucla rejects. :)

it's was kind of expected. still, there was always that small bit of hope that grew and grew as the date of notification approached. i'm a wee bit disappointed. i should wait for berkeley, but i expect the same answer from them.

this is far from the end for me. i've also been accepted into riverside, santa cruz, irvine, and santa barbara. although sb and irvine are probably better schools, i decided on santa cruz. going to santa cruz will help me to become a more independent and mature person. sb and irvine are just too close to home for that to happen.

now that i think about it, it's probably not disappointment that i feel from being rejected from ucla. it's a combination of feelings from the realization that for the first time in years...i'm leaving home.

Add me to the list of rejects

3.85 EE (major gpa)
all major courses done

~3.8 overall

It was very difficult for me to fulfill any pre-reqs cuz I goto a CC in MA, which offers only calc I and II and none of the engineering classes required for bioengineering. I guess in a way it's my fault since I applied for major where I was missing quite a few pre-recs. But my brother was also rejected and I'm pretty sure he has most or all the pre-recs done since his major was middle Eastern studies...but I just hope I get into any of the other places I applied...because the state system in MA is terrible...on that note any places accept senior transfers?

hey im with you porcupyne... got rejected too. i knew it was a no from the get-go , i mean i have a low gpa 3.1 (haha) and applied for business econ at UCLA.

but with a 3.1 i'm very happy that i got into cal poly, davis, irvine and santa barbara.... all for the majors i wanted to as well.

A trend that I DO SEE from the rejected ECON majors is that...

-pre-req incomplete, reject.
-lower than "average" gpa, reject.

so my advice to future prospective bus/econ ucla ppl....COMPLETE THE PRE-REQS and keep up your grades!!!!

so far, i havent seen any admitted econ majors on this thread...they are all pending.

tks guys...congrat. again..

fei: i miss one semester of physics
