Rejected from UC's and Mid Range

santa barbara city college then UCSB sounds like a cool stepping stone process…

any Cal States? - SLO, Pomona, San Jose State?

U of Oregon, especially in their Honors College would be a swell choice…

another thought as they do have a dynamite program in this arena…The Evergreen State College is one of two public schools on the ‘Colleges That Change Lives’ list of 40 Liberal Arts Colleges that deliver a HUGE bang - you know, change lives…

it’s the ‘greenest’ school in the nation…on 1000 acres with a half mile of beach right on the southern tip of the Puget Sound…

seriously though, the #1 factor in you getting an amazing education is YOU…a happy you will apply yourself more completel;y…if you do well in competitive settings where vying for attention is required to get ahead, then the UC is the way to go - if you thrive more in an intimate setting, then a LAC - in between, then go to UO

Good Luck!

The reason I say I am overqualified is because I have better grades and test scores than those presented on the web. I may have been slightly childish to think that U of O would be lesser education, because really it is up to me what I make of my education, but I just believed for too long that I would be going to a UC, or a school of that caliber on paper, for my entire life. U of O, was a safety school so it just seems like a step down.

Katliasmom: I completely agree with you, I don’t want to go to a CC for that reason exactly. I’ve been warming up to the idea of working my ass off at U of O and making it something special for myself and then going to an excellent graduate school. A CC just wouldn’t be a “healthy” option for me? I think staying home while the rest of my friends go to “real college” and not having the university experience would be more detrimental to my person as a whole, even if I was to go to a UC in the end of it all.

Isn’t it hard to transfer from CSU’s to UC’s? UC’s favor CC’s over CSU’s so there’s a great deal of competition there, and i wouldn’t really want to get stuck at SJSU for my undergrad.

GoBlue81: No, i didn’t apply there. I applied to UCB, UCSB, UCD, UCSC, and UCSD. I got rejected by all of them except wait listed at UCD. I was offered admission at UC Merced because I didn’t get into any of the other UC’s and i clocked for their minimum GPA requirement to be admitted to at least one UC.
