Rejected from UCSC?

Has anyone else been rejected from UCSC?

STATS
GPA: 3.77
Major: English
IGETC completed
one year transfer
Pre-reqs completed

I'm kind of confused as to why I got rejected......I'm thinking there may have been a mistake on my application?

must be a mistake… do you have 60 units completed?

me too. i don’t really know my exact GPA, but i know its higher than 3.3 for sure. and i got rejected. If i get rejected from SC where would i go besides merced? damnn man.

This could officially be the scariest thread ever. Thank you for scaring the bejesus out of me.

" This could officially be the scariest thread ever. Thank you for scaring the bejesus out of me. "

why? did u hear from SC?

From community college to UC you must transfer as a junior. You must complete at least 60 transferable, lower division units.

Most UCs don’t like intra-transfer, meaning no from a UC to another UC after 1, 2, 3 year.

Wow! I can’t believe you would be rejected with those stats. It’s probably since you’re a 1st year transfer in which you need at least 60 units to transfer. But you finished IGETC, so I don’t really know. Did you happen to finish the requirements for your major?

Sorry to hear that you were rejected, hopefully the other colleges you applied to will not turn out as the same as UCSC.

MakeBank24…can u get in anywhere else if u get rejected from UCSC? i got rejected too. i have igetce finished, 63 units by end of this semester and 3.3> gpa. i don’t know my exact gpa.

You say you are a 1 year transfer. That may very well be your problem.

The UC’s and Cal state schools received record applications this year. As an example, San Diego State recieved more than 55,000 applications for 6,900 enrollment spaces. They state that “they are not currently admitting lower-division transfer students. Lower division transfer students should complete all SDSU lower-division requirements at their current college prior to applying to SDSU.” I suspect that the UC’s are following the same strict guidelines. Are you sure that you have met all of UCSC’s transfer requirements??

OaksMom-i am a junior level transfer. i don’t know if that question was directed to me or not, but you seem to know whats up.

Directed at any transfer student trying to get into a UC or Cal State school. It’s going to be a tough year anyway you look at it. I’m glad you are at Junior year level and I wish you the best.

I too am quite confused today. Rejected UCSC…
CCC junior transfer 60+ units
3.3 ish gpa
Igetc Certified
On their site they say hey admitted everyone who met certain standards they then list them…I met the standard…and still got rejected wth?

yeah im really confused too. i just hope this isn’t a trend other uc’s follow

for those who got rejected, how many units do you have? and what major?

i will have 63 by the end of this semester. and my major is poli sci

Well I’m really sorry to hear that some of you have been rejected. As for colleges that are still available to apply to for admissions, I don’t really know. I believe UC Merced might still be accepting applications if you did not submit one to them.

Don’t be worried, as long as you have applied to the other colleges than you still have a chance. Hang in there!

Lionheart, I would call the admissions office on Monday and speak to someone about your rejection. Maybe they can clarify what happened with your application. Ask if you can be reconsiderd after the May 1st decisions are made. As I said, both the UC’s and Cal states received record applications this year. You may have been part of a huge transfer group this year that they cannot accomodate fully. If you call let us know what they said.

Rejected.

Major: Philosophy.

-3.29 UC Transfer GPA.

-61 transferable credits after Spring semester.

-IGETC will be complete after Spring semester.

-Prereqs complete.

I think I was rejected because I waited until this semester to take my transferable Math (Stats). What a bummer. I expect the same decision to come from the other UC’s i applied to - Davis, SB, Irvine, and Riverside.

Im sorry to hear bout UCSC baller. But didnt you apply to UCSD and get in?

no. haven’t heard from SD yet.

--------edit-----------
i wish.lol but SC wasn’t my first choice anyway. it just sucks to know that SC rejected me. which means chances of getting accepted to another UC is very small.
