I know UCSD is ranked above Davis so I was going to be really relieved if i got in (i didn’t wanna go there, i really want to go to Davis) buuut i didn’t get in… so, do i still have a chance for Davis? I can post my stats if anyone wants to see them

Honestly no need to worry, u can still get in, there are ppl who have gotten rejected from UCLA and UCSD and are hoping for UCB. but sure ill take a look at ur stats if u like

Hi bookworm - want to count down to Thursday together?

Fancy seeing you guys here!

Now that we got rejected at UCSD…its now time to worry about our admission to UCD!

Good luck to us all I’m pretty sure we all can get in

Hey Matrix…I think we got screwed with that UCSD medical scholars program…not getting accepted is bad enough but to be told you were accepted and taking the time to apply for the program then to find out did not get in absolutely sucks

Totally agree. Both attachments to the med scholars invite said it was only for “admitted” students. Why in the heck would they mislead an applicant like that? It’s really shocking. So here we are now waiting for Davis and Berkeley, both of which at least I would prefer anyway. It sure does shake one’s confidence though.

I also got numerous emails for the Jacobs school of engineering saying I was a top applicant. Dont know what happened. I thought with SAT 2200, ACT34 GPA 4.25, work experience, Varsity sports…I would get into UCSD. Now not sure about Davis and have completely written off Berkeley.

heyyy its everyone from the SD forum! haha. i got denied too. davis has been my top choice since freshman year im so scared now

haha woohoo SD reject party!!! Davis has been my top choice all along

And my stats:
3.65 UC GPA ( fresh- 3.5/3.8 soph-3.2/3.0 jun-4.1/4.33 senior year is really high too)
1940 SAT I (M-550 R-660 W-730) 580/620 SAT II’s
102.5 hours of community service (80 from tutoring kids, the rest is club activities, beach clean up-s)
7 AP classes at the end of this year. (3,4,4,5 on AP tests so far)
EC’s: Key club, sierra club, humane society youth club-i’m the secretary and i’ve done supply drives for our local animal shelter. Creative writing anthology editor.
other stuff: first generation/family member to go to college. low-income.
I’ve been told i have really good essays

aaaand id be a biology general major or evolution/ecology

I also got numerous emails for the Jacobs school of engineering saying I was a top applicant. UC GPA 4.2, SAT 2160, several varsity sports, >200 hrs volunteer hours, no hardships. Now wondering if I screwed up some how on my UC app. . Maybe my essays weren’t the best, but not horrible.
Waiting for Davis

Chulagirl…They screwed up…UCSD acceptance/rejections make no sense…I am in the same boat as you

Ofcourse it doesn’t…they had to accept more OoS than in-state this year because of Jerry Brown’s budget cuts

What a great year to graduate

hello, SD forum friends… ;_____;

SD was my first choice, blahhh

but I’ve never been to Davis
from what I’ve been reading/hearing, people who actually visit (and not just hear that it’s boring) love it.
hoping to get in to at least ONE UC -__-
I have Davis and Irvine left… eeeeek
does anyone know if/when Davis will have some sort of admitted students day? because I plan to go up to San Jose in mid-April

Want to be even more depressed? Check out the admission stats for the UCs relative to residency of applicants from 2008-2010. Pretty disturbing. UCB shows a a drop of 11% in admission for CA residents between 2008 and 2010, UCLA 6%, San Diego 5%, SB 3%. The other campuses have held pretty steady. We are already getting a taste of what 2011 will show.

Don’t know why above link is not working. Try this one and go to table 7.

There is the UC Davis Picnic Day which happens to be the largest student run event in the nation, about 60,000 people show up for it. its in April

Just got admitted into Irvine! Let’s go Davis!

I’d much rather go to Davis because it’s only 20 minutes away… + I’m going for Biochem. so that’s good.

I reallllyyyyy wanna go to Davis, especially since im a bio major. though im worried that my spot is gonna be taken by someone more qualified who doesn’t even want to go there =/

Bookworm…that is why I withdrew my applications from schools I have decided I dont want to attend. Tired of seeing “I got accepted but never wanted to go there”

33…i wasn’t sure, i wanted to see what i got into, davis has been my top choice but it would be stupid to set all of my hopes on Davis and then not get in. of course i will tell the schools i don’t want to go to that i won’t be attending after this friday
