I am instate and applied to main campus with a GPA of around 88.5ish and SAT scores of 2210. I applied by December 1. UD was my backup school, and I was counting on getting in because I was probably going to have to go there.

I didn't select anywhere to even be considered for the Associate in Arts program but that's where I got in, at the Dover campus and my major is listed as undeclared. I also applied to the honors, but there was no mention of getting accepted or rejected from that in my letter.

I'm so confused as to how I get rejected because I know plenty of people with GPAs and SATs much lower than mine who got into the main campus. My mid-year senior grades did slip actually.

I only mentioned my interest in dancing in my essay and I said nothing about theatre/drama. Do you think there was some kind of mistake?

If it wasn't a mistake, is there a chance that UD will reconsider their admission?

I think this is definitely a matter worth calling the admissions office for. I’m really surprised that you got rejected with those stats. A kid in my brother’s grade wrote a pretty clever letter to Penn State after he got rejected from their main campus, and they ended up accepting him. Del’s policy on reconsidering rejections could be different for all I know, but hey, what to ya got to lose? I’d definitely look into it. Best of luck to ya!

i forgot to mention that my midyear grades were pretty low this year (senioritis -__-) which brought my total gpa down to 86.7ish

but most people in my school got their decisions before midyear grades had even been sent out so i really don’t understand… and i took the most rigorous classes possible and had a ton of APs

that’s kind of surprising that you didn’t get in as an in-stater with those stats, it might be worth a shot to ask the admissions officer, especially if your friends with lower stats got in.

The usual answer from colleges is that they won’t reconsider admissions decisions unless you show they made a mistake (such as misinterpreting how a school grades or confusing 2 students with the same name). However, your stats should have gotten you in as an in-state. Did you apply late?

nope, i applied before the honors deadline (and i applied for honors), december 1.
the actual deadline was january 15 i think

Sounds like a huge mistake. They obviously have you confused with someone else. Call first thing Monday. If that doesn’t work have your GC call.
