Rejected from University of the Pacific?

I just received an email that said I was rejected from UOP. It was kind of a surprise to me, considering I'm the only person I know of from my school that got rejected. I applied in early December through the Commonapp as a biology major, and I had a 3.9 UW (4.3 W) GPA, an 1890 SAT I, tons of extracurriculars, great personal statements, and a stellar letter of recommendation. Everyone else I knew that applied had GPAs starting from as low as 2.0 and all of them got in (not exaggerating). A lot of my friends ended up receiving the presidential or regents scholarships, and they all had lower stats than me. I already got into UC Davis, San Diego, and Berkeley, but I was waiting on UOP so that I could compare financial aid packages. Now I know that I'm definitely sending in my SIR to Berkeley, but I still want to know why I was rejected. Was biology really that impacted? Was there some sort of deadline for science majors? Should I have applied even earlier? Should I have used the UOP application instead of the Commonapp? Anyone care to shed some light?

Hmm… that’s very weird. Personally, I used the UOP application, not the CommonApp. At first, I regretted this - but I guess it was okay because I got in. Furthermore, my stats are a bit lower than yours, so I’m not too sure what happened. I also didn’t get into UC Davis, SD, nor Cal.

The only differences are that I applied really early to RD - 11/15/09, using the UOP application.

Hope this helps.

i want to make sure i get into UCLA
okay pepes my GPA is a 3.5 i Am a SOPHOMORE i have no AP classes yet but i will have two next year i did 5 hours of community service and was rewarded by the national health department i was in the junior cadet class i love reading political science books and love tennis do i have a chance from now oh yeah i was ranked 176 out of 1376 freshman’s also African American

srry ^^ but thats not enough to get into UCLA probably. 5 hours of community service is practically nothing, even for a sophmore, try 100 (no joke). A 3.5 GPA is not high either, and you definately need to get into a whole lot of AP classes next year. I’m currently a junior, i have a 4.65 GPA and have done probably a 100 hrs of community service. I dont think I’m even going to get into that school. But you do have an advantage with your nationality.

so how about i till you i have feed the homeless volunteered at church functions. also this semester my GPA is probably a 3.8 will those help and what do you mean my nationality will advance me
