Hello everyone!
In the midst of applying to more colleges after getting rejected REA.
If the college does not require me to send both SAT and ACT scores, do you think I should still send my SAT II subject test scores: 730 Math II and 670 Bio E ?
Should I include my AP exam scores? I took 6 so far and got 3s and 4s on all of them… ha the 5s evade me!
Thanks for the help!
I’m not sure what type of colleges you are applying to but I would not send your AP scores if they were 3 and 4s. They’ll see the AP classes on your transcript. If you are applying to high end schools and they do not require you to submit the SAT II scores I wouldn’t send any that are less that 700.
I have to disagree with @LIParent101 - AP scores that a student doesn’t send are generally assumed to be 1s or 2s. Any score higher than that should be sent, to counter this assumption.
Hard to advise without any info on your sat scores, where you were rejected and where you are applying…
@NotVerySmart, I haven’t found that to be the case at all. Neither of my three kids sent their AP scores. Some were 5s, 4s also. That never affected their acceptances. They were accepted to all colleges( so far but still waiting for third to get all back ). They weren’t penalized for not sending. They see your AP classes on transcript and what your grades were for those classes. That’s much more important to them. If you aced your AP classes they won’t be assuming a 1 or a 2 on tests.
@LIParent101 @NotVerySmart @ClarinetDad16 Thanks for commenting! I was thinking about applying to some top schools along with others. With the ivy league schools, students typically seem to get all 5s on APs, so I wasn’t sure if self-reporting 3s and 4s on the common app would hurt.
@supervivencia, my D was accepted into ivy’s without reporting AP scores but for engineering the schools she applied to did want her to submit SAT IIs. If you don’t want to post your stats I understand. Feel free to PM me if you want to discuss.
@supervivencia I agree with @LIParent101 Please do not submit your AP scores. They will see your AP grades on transcript. The only reason to send would be if you had a B or C in an AP and them received a 5 on the test that would probably be a help to you. I know the ivy leagues like to see SAT 2s over 700 so I would only send the one that you scored above that if they require it.
